Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

The Northwest's famed diversity of fishing conditions and quarry requires a big fly box. To this end, members of the Inland Empire Fly Fishing Club have selected their 200 favorite flies, the culmination of 30 years of on-site research and creative tying. Old Northwest stand-bys make an appearance, like the March Brown, Skykomish Sunrise, and Yellow Sally, and more recent innovations like Kaufmann's Stimulator. While the sheer number precludes detailed tying instructions, clear color photographs and material ingredients aid the fly-tyer, and the wealth of entomological and angling information certainly makes this a welcome addition to the nontying fly-fisher's bookshelf as well.

Format: Spiral-bound
This compilation book is from the Inland Empire Fly Fishing Club. It has a great introduction, descriptions, patterns, and material. The photography and artwork are both outstanding. This edition also includes a monthly compendium of fishing types and recommendations throughout the year.

Primarily being a float-tube, trolling fly-fisherman, I especially enjoy the leeches, streamers, and nymphs sections of the book. Very helpful for the serious fly-fisherman! Flies of the Northwest

Very good art work and easy to read. Like the coil binding so that the book will lay flat at the bench.

Although this is not a complete catalog of flies of the Northwest, you can be sure that the flies presented are most of the essential ones. The background material, the illustrations, the instructions, and the tying recipes are all excellent. If you fly fish in the Northwest this book should be in your collection.
