Not just for children!,
By hmbnd2 "Sonlight lover" (chillin' with my laptop) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Flight of the Fugitives: Gladys Aylward (Trailblazer Books #14) (Paperback)
I finished this book in less than 6 hrs. It was such a page-turner! I really liked that it appealed to both adults and children alike! Hey, there was a little romance in there too! Very clean, mind you, this is a Christian juvenile book. I didn't read it aloud to my kids, but I will because it was such a page-turner for me!
It may be a little too graphic or intense for younger listeners or readers though. I think the age range given is correct even for listeners. Use your judgement. Excellent book..better than "These Are My People". Oh, and if you can, be sure to watch "Inn of Sixth Happiness" after reading this!

I LOVE the Trailblazer books!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Flight of the Fugitives: Gladys Aylward (Trailblazer Books #14) (Paperback)
This is on of my favorite Trailblazer books. It is about Gladys Aylward, a missionary in China, who takes in a lot of orphans and adopts three of her own children, Ninepence, Less, and Bao-Bao. One day the children see silver "birds" that drop bombs. Now, Gladys has to lead her nearly hundred orphans to safety from the Japanese, proving that God protects and listens to the prayers of His children.

We thought because this book was read to our granddaughter in her school it would be appropriate to purchase it for her. She asked for it after the teacher read it. Little did we know that the teacher abridged the book in her reading leaving out parts that first graders shouldn't be dealing with. I don't this book or any of the other books in the series are appropriate for the young children.
