This book is chock full of detail on the 454th Heavy Bombardment Group that flew out of San Giovanni airfield near Cerignola, Italy from January 1944 until October 1945. Most of the information in the book was gathered immediately after the war when the memories were fresh. There are separate chapters on every Bombardment Squadron (736-739) which you are unlikely to find in any other B-24 book. It records everything from the formation of the group in 1943 until stand down in 1945. You will also see many pictures you won't find anywhere else including a lot of pictures of the oft changed and inconsistant B-24 rudder tail markings of the group which drive modelers (like me) stark raving mad. The book is laid out much like a college yearbook. A must have for any fan of the B-24 or decendent of the 454th.
