Editorial Reviews

Flight is the second release from composer, producer, engineer Steve La Cerra. On Flight, La Cerra clearly defines the genre he pioneered, 'new age with attitude.' Drawing from influences as diverse as Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult, Beethoven and Pat Metheny, Flight represents the culmination of La Cerra's efforts to deliver new age-type melodies without the wimpy-ness!! "Sierra Nevada" -- the CD's fiery opening song -- demonstrates La Cerra's ability to compose memorable tunes and perform them with a kick-ass band playing strong arrangements. More aggressive than Steve's debut CD "One Step At A Time" (also available from Amazon.com), Flight showcases La Cerra's drumming abilities and proves that good songs can happily co-exsist with technical ability. Steve La Cerra soars on Flight!

5.0 out of 5 stars Flight- Allow your mind to take a journey., December 8, 2000

Flight, by Steve La Cerra is a masterpiece. It is the thinking man's Yanni, and the feeling man's Tesch. If you are a fan of quality "New Age" music, Flight is your salvation. Flight is New Age with an attitude.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another brilliant work from Steve La Cerra, October 10, 1999

Being a fan of Mr. La Cerra from his first disc, One Step at a Time, I was looking forward to his new work, Flight. I was not suprised to find another incredible listening experience. From the first track, Sierra Nevada, which ends up having a Salsa-type feel to it, to Into the Arms of Morpheus, a 5 part collection which has beautiful melodies, to Amazing Journey which showcases music with attitude, he presents a wide range of musical styles. I highly recommend this work to everyone. You owe it to yourself to give his music a listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Lush Texturings from Steve's Studio, September 17, 1999
By

Yet another foray into lush, sculptured sound from a multi-talented musician. . .

LaCerra certainly makes a departure from his previous work (One Step At A Time), but the underlying themes are still there. This CD is definitely Steve LaCerra. And it is just damned good.

Whether he's writing and producing his own albums, producing records for other acts, handling sound for Blue Oyster Cult 120 nights a year, or playing drums with his seriously hard rock outfit, Dagger, Steve is a musician's musician.

Get this CD, you will NOT be disappointed.
