Simply this is a picture book of Flint's past. My mother is 80 and I got the book for her. She remarked that it was a snap shot of the glory days of Flint. Note, after 1960 life gets a lot harder in Flint for everybody. The race riots of the 1960s hits Flint hard. Now Flint is rated as one of the top ten worst cities in the USA.

This book captures Flint in the prime of its life. The pictures are in very good condition. The captions of the pictures give a short write of of what item, event, or building is mentioned in the picture. The dates on the pictures are well researched.

This is a good picture book and is a fair value for the money.

The building pictured in this book are just incredible. I was born and raised in this town, Over 67 years now and yes onthe other side of the tracks is where I lived.

The leaders of this City from day one were so Greedy and stupid that they destroyed one of the most Historical city in the world.....
The gorgeous building and imported architiure that once existed was torn down to build a tenament building or bar.

The greed contained No thought that it was Flint Michigan that was the Birthplace of General Moroes not Detroit and Nash and Chevorelet, GMC, Tanks, The Nordon Bomb site and machine guns and more material than you can name in the Nine Factories that were once in this beautiful city before it was allowed to be burned down, stolen to bare concrete and with no thought of what a Great Historical stopping place it would have been for many , many years to come ot would have reminded America's that it and it's peoplesaved America from defeat in WW!!

Not the true fact that the Unions and Government destroyed what should have been a American Masterpiece like the Greenfield Museum.and Village.....

I purchased this for the photos of the city. Flint used to be a bustling city of over 200,000 people but has degraded badly since the automobile shops have deserted the town. Crime is high and jobs are scarce there now so the pictures take me back to a time when life was good.
