Editorial Reviews

Flintstones The: The Complete First Season: The Flintstones was pitched to the network as an animated version of Jackie Gleason's The Honeymooners. Now the honeymoon never has to end with this 4-disc set of the 28 episodes of the entire (pre)historic first season full of terrific extras and trivia that will make fans shout "Yabba dabba doo!"Flintstones The: The Complete Second Season The prehistoric and prehysterically funny legacy grows larger on DVD with this fabulous 32-episode 4-disc set of Season Two! A perfect alchemy of adult humor outlandish plots and childish pranks The Flintstones offered cartoon characters that over time appear even more human and multidimensional than many of their live-action TV situation comedy counterparts. But the biggest ongoing series treat - the one that hooks each new generation - is the sight gag of dinosaurs performing as "modern" appliances - from lawnmowers to airplanes to vacuum cleaners to garbage disposals. This Deluxe Set is full of such visual delights and classic episodes. Now thanks to modern-day advent of DVD the memories are forever etched in stone!System Requirements:Running Time: 1565 MinFormat: DVD MOVIE Genre: CHILDREN/FAMILY Rating: NR UPC: 014764266022

I am a die-hard Flintstones fan and always have been. From the gagets to the knuckle headed behavior of Fred himself. The episode that gives a nod to Alfred Hitchcock is especially enjoyable. These are highly entertaining cartoons you can put on for the kiddos without going bonkers yourself. In fact, you'll probably find yourself sitting down right with them to share the laughs. Go for it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Flintstones were the best!, March 23, 2005

No cartoon made today can hold a candle to the Flintstones! You usually associate cartoons with kids, right? Well, Hanna Barbera's humor, specifically for this show, was geared towards adults and young people. I watched it when I was growing up, but I never really understood the "punch lines" until I was older. You can just see the similarities to the Honeymooners while watching Fred and Wilma. And of course, Barney was like Norton, his sidekick. Everyone should own this piece of history; a cartoon like this will never come along again. I just ordered Season 3.
