Unlike the other reviewer, I really like these covers. I am guessing a lot of the problems stated by the other reviewer are due to the Flip disposable inserts they were using which I have not used and probably would not ever buy from just looking at them. For disposable inserts in the Flip covers I would recommend the gdiaper inserts. Anyway, with cloth inserts, I have not experienced one leak or blowout and I've exclusively used Flip covers from 1-9 months on a child who was steadily around 50% for length and weight the first 6 months. The cover has fit my guy very well the whole time...even in the waist without crossover snapping. IMO They have a very adjustable fit with the two rows of waist/hip snaps and the rise snaps. You have more options than just the rise to adjust for baby's leg size as the 2 rows of waist/hip snaps can be used on different settings to make it tighter or looser in the leg, all while maintaining the same setting in the waist. Also, the amount of PUL that is exposed to babies skin is minimal. The fold-over flaps inside the cover and whatever insert you are using should cover most of the baby's skin as long as you aren't using some sort of very skinny insert. I recommend using flats or the stay dry inserts for a more trim appearance, however, prefolds work very well in these diapers too.

*Update*
Well, as fate would have it, I got my first leaks a few days after posting this review. I realized the leg elastic was shot and had to replace it. I have decreased the rating from 5 to 4 to be fair but I believe that the elastic failure might be due to my homemade detergent.

Flips are the best as far as hybrid systems go. No generic brand stands up to them.
I have tried the bububibi china brand they are pethetic and are useless after one wash.I used g diaper and the reason for using a hybrid is so you don't have to wash as often and I found myself washing just as much as with a pocket system. I like pockets too but don't want to have to buy as much to cloth diaper. Flips are my #1 choice for cloth.

We never used the disposable inserts so I can't speak to those, but these were great for us. When we used disposable diapers, we had blowouts every once in a while. That NEVER happened with these. We bought these before our daughter was born. She was just shy of 7 lbs so it took a while before these would fit her. We started using them around 4 months and they were wonderful! We're expecting #2 and will be using this system again.

We used these shells with Flip inserts for an entire week....with issues. Check out this post to see how they compared to the Grovia diapers after week long trials of both brands: [...]
