What a darling little gem! We checked this out from the library and I'm back to buy a copy for my kids and a couple of extras for gifts. The rhyming of this book is so cute and catchy. Keeps my 14 month old and 3 1/2 year old interested from start to finish! Love the "spring" feel this book holds. Had I discovered it before Easter, this might have made it's way to their baskets!

This book has fast become a favorite of our 18 month old daughter... I would highly recommend it, we love reading it to her with its lyrical lines and sweet story about mama animals helping their little baby animals learn how to move.

The pictures are sweet and touching as is the prose.

My son loves this book. I had borrowed it from the library and he liked it so much I bought one. I like the way it prompts the child to think of the next rhyming word on the next page. Also a good book to read before nap time because it's not too long.

I think I might love this book more than my toddler! This is a must have for every little one! I can read this book to my son over and over again!

This is a fabulous book! It is my 13 month old daughter's favorite and it's a great book to help pick out and point at animals. She always leans in for a kiss at the very end - love it!

This is my favorite book to read to my 9-month-old not only because it is so sweet, but also because it allows so much room for my own reading style. I can give each baby animal its own voice and read the onomatopoeias with flair, which I think adds a lot to the fun of the book. But for naptime, I can tone down the voices and the lyrical rhymes still carry my baby's interest for a more soothing read. If you're a baby animal lover, the illustrations in Flip, Flap, Fly will make you smile every time, and beware -- the last page might melt your heart!

This is such an adorable book. We all (me, my 2 year old girl and my 4 year old boy) just love the sweet illustrations, and the rhymes are fun and have great flow. Each page ends in a "cliff hanger" - "look, quacks the baby duck, I see a...." Both kids love shouting out the next animal. And there is enough detail in the pictures that they stay engaged, over and over. We have read this book at least 20 times. It is time to return it to the library - we aren't able to check it out yet again, or we'd renew it! I'm thinking we're going to just buy it - this book is a treasure.

My son loves this adorable book. We got it when he was five months old, and he was clearly engaged by both the lyrics and the illustrations from day one. It is still his favorite (so much so that I can quote the entire book!), and I love that he kisses whenever I say, "Kiss, says the baby child, kiss kiss kiss!" This is a fun book with a slightly more intricate rhyme scheme than most books targeted for this age group, making it a delight for parents to read aloud.

My daughter has fallen in love with this book. We read it quickly and more like a song then a story and it is great. I bet we read this at least once a day. I have started buying this book for friends who are having babies because it is such a great book.

I have read A LOT of children's books, but this one is definitely my favorite for the younger crowd! The book depicts momma animals helping their babies learn to fly, swim, wiggle, and slide. It opens with a momma bird teaching her baby bird to fly, "...in the blue, blue sky, where the wind blows whish. `Look!' cheeps the baby bird. `I see a... FISH!'"

Candlewick Press says this book is for ages 2-4. Though my baby is only 4 months, I could tell she clearly loved this book! Her face lit up at the colorful pictures, rhyme, and alliteration. The sounds of the words in this book intrigued her little ears! And as a mom, I felt good about reading this book to her because, unlike so many others, it actually had a clear storyline and a whimsical use of language. Though my baby most likely cannot understand the meaning of the words yet, this book still seemed to be age appropriate, as it sparked her interest on several occasions.

As she gets older, I think what she will love most about this book is seeing all of the baby animals. And then at the end seeing a real baby! But I don't want to steal the joy of the book from you... you'll have to check it out yourself!
