4.0 out of 5 stars No Stains! December 20, 2010
Color Name:Ribbit
I have been cloth diapering my son since he was born ten months ago. When he was first born I used Thirsties Duo wraps with velcro closure. I didn't like them. By three months the velcro was wearing out and he was out growing them even on their largest size. And They also stained horribly so I decided to try something new.

When I received my flip covers when my son was 3 1/2 months he was wearing the smallest size. I don't think these would truly fit a newborn because at that time he was about 12 pounds. I love the snap closures, six months later they are showing no sign of wearing out. I was afraid of snaps at first because I thought they would be a hassle compared to velcro. I actually prefer it now. For one thing, you never make the cover too tight because you know which snaps you use each time. Right now we leave five rows of snaps in between the ones we actually snap together. He is also on the second setting for rise so I think they will fit him for a lot longer.

I also love the pockets on the front and back to tuck the insert into. I don't use the flip inserts, I just use prefolds and they work fine. I tried another brand that didn't have the pockets and the are way more likely to leak because the diaper can slip out easier.

Because these covers don't have the white edging that the Thristies had, they don't stain, even if I can't rinse them out immediately after a messy diaper. They also contain large messes quite easily. I am often shocked when I open my sons diaper to discover an enormous bowel movement that I had no idea was there.

The reason that this received four stars and not five is that some of the stitching is wearing out. Two out of five of my Flip covers are starting to come apart on the top edge around the elastic. This will be a very simple fix with a sewing machine. But I can see where it could be an inconvenience for some people.

I LOVE these covers. I am actually on here to order some more so that I won't have to wash them as often.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for overnight, not my favorite for daytime May 14, 2012

We like this diaper for overnight on our 5 month old daughter because it holds the extra bulk without gaping in the leg gussets like our Thirsties Duo Wrap Snap, Meadow, Size One (6-18 lbs) will if it's stuffed too full. We use this cover with either 2 Indian prefolds or 1 Indian prefold and one gDiaper hemp liner for overnight (10 hours) and never have leak issues.

For daytime I much prefer my Thirsties covers because they are less likely to get poo on them with the prefold and Snappi. The Flip has pockets to tuck in the prefold and these almost always will get messy with a dirty diaper.

My daughter is very petite and these fit her on the smallest setting at 4 months old (approx. 12 pounds). The Thirsties Duo Size One fit her on the smallest setting around 4-5 weeks and 7 pounds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cover, great price September 10, 2010

I have a dozen bumgenius diapers, 2 flip diapers, a couple fuzzibunz, and a mommy's touch diaper. I have to say the flips are probably the easiest and most practical, because it's fast to lay an insert of your choice in them and fast to clean as well. I've never had a mess or a leak with the flips, day or night. They're great for traveling because they don't take up much space. I trust them more than disposables, because I have leaks or explosions with those.

I got mine from Cotton Babies, free shipping. I got it at the seconds sale, but it's perfect diaper, can't figure out why it's a seconds.

I like this brand of diaper cover--I like the snaps much better than velcro--and it seems to work better as an overnight cover, not as much leakage. Read more
