The next best thing to a real trip,
By Andrew Giambarba (agiam@grupoandino.com) (Miami, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Flip Pallot's Memories, Mangroves, and Magic (Hardcover)
There are so few things that could even approximate real fly fishing. OK, there's nothing that approximates it, but there sure are a lot of authors who try to take you there. Flip Pallot has brackish water in his veins and his combination of phenomenal photos and stunning illustratons prove that he is one of the true pioneers of the sport. The photos are just for those who love to dream of the next trip. We fishermen love magazines, but this is like the banquet meal for those who have accustomed themselves to hoping a national magazine might have an article and a photo from our favorite part of the world. Enjoy the feast!

a great book about the evolution of saltwater fly fishing.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Flip Pallot's Memories, Mangroves, and Magic (Hardcover)
This book is outstanding. Anyone who has been bitten by the bug of saltwater fly fishing can relate to the struggle of the author's early days of fly fishing in the Florida backcountry. We are fortunate that Flip Pallot dedicated so much of his time to learning and perfecting the art of saltwater fly fishing so that we can learn quicker without re-inventing the wheel. The photographs are as good as the writing which makes this book an immediate favorite of any fisherman.

The Walker's Cay Chronicals in hardcover,
By David Larkin (dlarkin222@aol.com) (south Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Flip Pallot's Memories, Mangroves, and Magic (Hardcover)
This is exactly what I would expect from the man who films the Walker's Cay chronicals. It is as close to the water as you can get without being on it. If Flip ever reads the comment from the gentleman from Calif. I hope he continues on to read the rest of the reviews.
