I use a variety of reusable shopping bags, but the one that has been perpetually in my backpack for the last two years is the handy (rather unfashionable) black Acme Workhorse. It stuffs into a little ball and it's functional, but it's not exactly pleasing to the eye.

I've just discovered Flip and Tumble shopping bags and I'm in love. Bye bye basic black and hello beautiful bright happy color! They stuff up into a ball, just like the others, but have a new feature, one I haven't seen yet in a reusable shopping bag. These hang on your shoulder. You can still carry them in your hands, but the handle is long enough, and padded, so that you have both options.

You have to go to the Flip & Tumble website and check these out. They are not your average shopping bag. I love the modern design and wide range color palate. The self-stuffing feature works much better than what I'm used to and looks cooler, while bright colors are easier to spot in the bottom of your backpack. The stuff mechanism even makes it's own little pocket inside the bag for loose things and the patch of felt padding on the shoulder helps keep the bag from slipping off.

They're called 24-7 bags and I think that's a perfect name, the idea being that you keep them with you all the time. I think they'd be great while traveling, at the Farmer's Market, the beach non-food related shopping trips, laundry day....any time you need a bag.

I took mine on a test run last night to get some basic groceries and found them to be comfortable and easy to use. Highly recommended!

I prefer my Envirosax or Waste-Less bags for grocery shopping because they are bigger much. Flip and Tumble 24-7 bags aren't as big and harder to put things into because of the single handle design. These bags only fits a box or two of cereal.

Pro:
- Padded long handle for carrying stuff over the shoulder
- Folds into a fun ball
- Recommended for men who wants a reusable bag that does not have a loud print. My husband really like the black or blue ones.
- Good for everyday, non-grocery use, such as carrying a binder or a laptop.

Con:
- Too small for grocery shopping unless you shop everyday.
- Expensive (per bag, these are the most expensive reusable bags I have. I would not have bought them if not for the Amazon 4 for the price of 3 offer)
- Can't tie up the top since there is only one handle so not good for preventing stuff from spilling out on the car ride home from the store

I have tried almost every kind of reusable bag available: canvas, baggu, envirosax, earthwise, whole foods feed 100, generic grocery store nonwovens....and this is the only one I end up using on an almost daily basis. While other bags claim that they are easy to store in your purse/backpack, the reality is that you will not be bothered to fold them neatly into their storage pockets after every use. They are more likely to end up tangled up in your purse, or left behind in the car! Flip and tumble bags are really fun and easy to use - I actually enjoy crushing them up into a tiny ball. For the frequency of use I get from these, they are worth every penny.

I stumbled across these bags while looking for another brand, and I'm so glad I did. I've bought a dozen or so of the nonwoven bags you find in the grocery stores, and almost never remember to get them from the house to the car once they're empty....let alone remember to take them into the store!

With the Flip and Tumble bags, as soon as they've been emptied, I simply bundle them back up into a self contained ball & tuck them right back into my purse. Since I bought them two months ago, I've never been without a bag when I needed one. Yes, they're pretty wrinkled when they're unwrapped, but as soon as they're filled, the wrinkles are basically gone. Frankly the convenience factor far outweighs the crumpling issue.

The shoulder strap has a small amount of padding for additional comfort, and is plenty long enough to wear crosswise or over a shoulder. Try THAT with a regular nonwoven reusable bag or most of the other totes out there. It's also sturdy enough to carry a larger or heavier load than you'd put in a normal grocery bag.

My only request--please make them in some fun prints. It would even help disguise the wrinkles!

A reusable bag is only useful when you have it on you--with the Flip and Tumble, I finally always have a bag on hand, and a lot fewer plastic bags building up in my pantry.

I love these bags so much that I keep coming back for more. They are expensive to buy a bunch of them at once, so I've added them gradually. Now I have six, which I think should finally be enough for even my biggest grocery shopping trips. These bags are very sturdy and large, so they can easily hold a lot of stuff, even heavy wine bottles or big frozen pizzas. I love that the straps are long enough to go over my shoulder so I can carry more when I'm unloading the car at home, leaving my hands free to open the door.

Some people have complained in reviews about the bags being wrinkly, but I've never been bothered about that. (After all, they're just shopping bags.) However, I just got a new one today, lemon (which is a much prettier sunshine daffodil yellow than it looks like on the product photo), and yes, it's very wrinkly and the fabric feels a bit stiff. But the ones that I've been using for a while have lost those heavy wrinkles, and their fabric is softer and more drapey. My new lemon bag just needs a few grocery trips with gallons of milk or some heavy soup cans to stretch those wrinkles out.

I am wheelchair bound and these bags are a Godsend for me. The little baskets that they have in stores (for carrying small amounts) constantly slip from my lap spilling everything. These bags have a handle which I am able to slip over my neck while I fill it with things, it never has spilled out, and I am able to have my purse in my lap while shopping. (not a possibility with small baskets) ... I have three of these bags, in bright pink, which I carry with me all the time in my purse. The bright color makes them easy to find and rolled up they take up no room at all. I love them. I am going to buy a large supply of them to 'gift' to my friends. One of which has no less than 15 of those plastic shopping bags full of things that he carries around.

I gave this to my sister as it's a favorite color. She showed my that by folding it lengthwise and then rolling it, there would be less wrinkling when opened. True.
This bag is thicker and a bit smaller than the two-handled Safeway thin cloth bag.

I love in Boston and am luckily quite close to a couple grocery stores. But close is still a 10 minute walk and 10 minutes feels mighty long when you're carrying 8 bags og groceries that feel like they're ripping your fingers off. Solution? Flip & Tumble bags!

Maybe it's because I'm a woman and I'm used to carrying around a purse on my shoulder, but these bags are just so easy to carry. I can generally fit at least double into one of these bags what I can into a typical grocery bag. And when I leave the store, I throw them over my shoulders and make my way home.

I often do my grocery shopping on a whim, so it's awesome to just carry these bags in my purse all the time (since they roll up into a little ball) and whenever I get to the store, I'm ready.

I've never had a more comfortable reusable shopping bag and I really believe that every city-dweller needs to own about 4 of these. They come in fun colors too, so you can look kind of stylish walking around town!

Although this bag is very sturdy, I like my envirosax bags better. #1 the envirosax bags are more affordable and more importantly, they look much better.

I don't really like the flip and tumble because it is SUPER wrinkled when opened. Therefore, it looks NOTHING like the photos depict unless you were to wash and Iron it (can you iron Nylon w/o ruining it?)

Anyways....it's a strong bag, but I do like the envirosax much better and I do use my envirosax more than this bag. I purchased the eggplant color and the color is as depicted.

I was looking forward to receiving this bag.... I almost bought five, since the design looked great, as well as the colors. The price stopped me, and I decided to check out the first bag before I bought more.

I'm glad I did. Here's why:

The bag is lightweight, and the colors are nice. It fits well in the pouch, and is easy to reload.

What surprised me was that the bag is a wrinkled mess. I'm not talking about a few wrinkles. It looks like a rag. At this price point, I was not expecting this. I cannot imagine how I would get it to look like the picture.

So, depending on your intended use, if you don't care about the look, then I expect you'll like the bag. I wanted a nicely styled multi-purpose bag which I could carry in my purse, and pull out when in a city. I wouldn't use it for that purpose.. I have many reuseable nylon totes which fit well into their containers, are a similar weight, and are very attractive at the same time (at lower price points).

Any questions? Drop a note, and I'll get back to you.

If the wrinkles are not an issue for you, enjoy the bag.
