5.0 out of 5 stars Works great on Kindle Fire December 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
I have been using MailDroid for about 3 weeks and it operates flawlessly. HOWEVER, when I 1st downloaded it from the Kindle Fire Store it crashed when trying to forward or reply to an email, as several other reviewers have commented. I emailed the developer and within 3 minutes he responded. It appears that the download package is corrupted. The problem was corrected by deleting the app, downloading it from slideme.org and sideloading it to the Fire. All is now good. This is an excellent mail app that is a significant improvement over the standard email client pre-installed on the Fire. BTW, I notified Kindle Fire support of the corruption problem about a week ago. They thanked me and said they were forwarding my email to the appropriate support department. Apparently, they have not corrected the problem yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great App for Combining Email Accounts March 6, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
I absolutely love this app. You are able to view multiple email accounts (from different providers- Yahoo!, Gmail, etc). I like that with one app I can easily view and manage my email accounts. You can also choose to view each account individually. The screen controls are easy to use. I have this loaded on my Kindle Fire and haven't had any complaints.

4.0 out of 5 stars From a former K9 user September 10, 2012
Test devices:
HTC EVO LTE 4G, stock ICS
Samsung Epic, Cyanogen 9 RC1 (Android 4)
Viewsonic gTablet, TeamDRH ICS 1.3 (Android 4)

With 6 email accounts spread across the web, I couldn't rely on the GMail app, and the stock email app didn't like to play with Yahoo. So, I delved into the alternates and used K9 for a long while. The problem there was that the performance was spotty and it didn't play nice when installed on multiple devices. Somehow, one would end up with email the other didn't, no matter how well configured they were. On a whim, I tried out MailDroid, and so far, it's been great. The dual layout operation for phone and tablet is very nice, and the overall look is clean. The two (major?) drawbacks I've come across with it so far is that it get's cranky when scrolling on my phone, and, how/what various setting are called in MailDroid aren't similar to what one usually expects from most any other email app. The ads at the bottom are pretty out of the way, which is nice, as is the extra customization options, including conversation mode and the notification icons. There is a full version in Google Play, but at $18, it's pretty expensive compared to similar apps.

Don't like how it works, how it lets you view, or not view I should say. Uninstalled after 10 minutes. Much better products out there.
