If you ever liked the TV series, get this movie!,

Flipper the TV series was made before my time, but I grew up watching reruns of the classic series. As long as I live, Flipper will always be one of my favorite TV series of all time. Just like the TV series, the famous dolphin named Flipper is here in "Flipper's New Adventure" making rescues, helping people, and just being the good old talented Flipper that performs amazing exploits in the water. In this movie, Brian Kelly makes his debut as Porter Ricks, Luke Halpin plays as Sandy, and Flipper is played by...Flipper. In "Flipper's New Adventure," (yep, it's a full-length movie), Flipper and Sandy use an island as a hideaway and they both later get tangled up in a kidnapping exploit. If you're familiar with the TV series, then you'll pretty much know what to expect from this movie. Unlike the Leonard Maltin review says, this movie is not just for kids, it's for anybody who has ever liked the TV series, or for anyone who likes good movies. I recommend it all the way!

Flipper's Second Adventure is Better Then the First,

Sandy Ricks (Luke Halpin) is home alone when he gets the news. The Ricks' home has been leased from the Federal Government, and they need it back. Sandy has until tomorrow to move out. Unfortunately, he also has to say goodbye to Flipper. But Sandy is not willing to go along with it. He runs away from home and finds a deserted island where he and Flipper can live. It's got fresh water, plenty of food, and a cave where the two can hide if anyone comes near. Unfortunately, it's not as deserted as Sandy first thought. Some escaped convicts have landed on the island, but they escape marooning a woman and her two daughters instead. Can Sandy help them without giving away his presence? What about the father of the family who is being held prisoner by the convicts? And will Sandy's father Porter (Brian Kelly) ever find his son? I'll admit that I was disappointed in the original Flipper movie. I felt it dragged. This one is slow in spots, but it is much more entertaining. The story moves forward at a mostly steady pace with just the occasional slow scene. There's more action and adventure in the climax this time around, too, which helps. Granted, there are some major plot gaps (Sandy helps the trio that much and they never suspect?), but I found them easy to overlook. I noted with the first movie how different it was from the TV series. This movie acts as a bridge. It mentions that Sandy's mother has died but just in passing. It also sets up Porter Ricks' new job as a park ranger by having him at a training facility at the beginning of the film. I'm glad I gave this second movie a try because it proved to be a much better film then the original. It will easily entertain kids and the young at hearts.

This is Brian Kelly's debue as Porter Ricks. There is incredible underwater photography and great dolphin tricks. Brian Kelly went on to be the Executive Producer of Bladerunner.

If you are looking for good clean family viewing, this is it!If you have ever had a pet that loved and protected you, then you know what a best friend REALLY is!Flipper is first Sandy's best friend, in the movies. Then in the series he is Sandy's younger brother, Bud's, best friend. I was just 5 years old when the first Flipper movie came out and I was hooked for life! I bought Flipper season 1 several months ago because of MY love for it. I also knew that my 2 1/2 year old grandson, A.J., would love it. He watches it all the time, now I need more! The first Flipper movie and Flipper's New Adventure are on there way to us and my grandson will be SO happy! Flipper is a must for any family. It's good healthy entertainment that you just can't find in todays TV series'. The original movies and series are fantastic and not to be judged by remakes! With the new Flipper additions maybe A.J. will allow my other grandkids to borrow season one instead just watching it at my house. Flipper is the dolphin version of Lassie. You're never too old (or too young)to love these pets.My best friend was a dog my family already had when I was born, and he became mine.He protected me and loved me as much as I loved him! Flipper movies and the series are a must own!
