4.0 out of 5 stars Connecting iMediaShare January 20, 2013
Verified Purchase
This process is really simultaneous. Reminds both your phone/tablet & your tv or whatever you're trying to connect it to have to be on the same Wi-Fi network for this to work. My tv is not a Wi-Fi tv so I connect mine through my ps3. Love watching my personally downloaded HD movies on an HD tv. if you're on PS3 like me make sure you go to Network Settings>> Media Server Connection>> Enabled. select the video on the app on your phone/tablet & click play. then go on your PS3 to the Video>> iMediaShare>> Video>> Now Playing. Just click on the video and your set. Easy to do and great app. Only have one problem. It's misconfigured to Facebook so you can't log in to it. 4star rating was because of that. [....] Thanks.

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't require FB! January 20, 2013
By Craze

I only installed this app due to the ignorant reviews about the Facebook requirement. IT DOES NOT REQUIRE THAT YOU LOG INTO FACEBOOK! There is a login option during the set up but immediately below it in very legible letters there is an option to skip log in. I hate when people don't pay attention and then write false reviews for an app that might actually be good. Also, people don't seem to realize that when an app connects to your FB it will ask you who you want to be able to view it's posts. I always change it to ONLY ME that way I don't spam my wall and my friends with advertisements even though I can understand that when a dev gives away their app for free that they need to make up that lost money some how. I didn't pay for this app and I am very understanding that money doesn't grow on trees and that a dev isn't making money by allowing us to get their app as the Free App Of The Day. I still have complete control of my FB page and if the app is good and doesn't overpost I wouldn't mind allowing it to advertise my FB. If it's done right, it could be nice to let my friends know I watched something interesting that they might want to watch. Read more ›

I purchased this App today as a Free App of the Day. I wasn't expecting much; but, once I installed it and tried it out, I was really impressed. It worked flawlessly on my Kindle Fire. When I opened it up, I didn't have to login to my Facebook acccount. I hit the Skip button instead. Then, I selected 1 of the many video providers they listed and my 3 year old Samsung Smart Tv displayed an option to Allow the video to be played. I Allowed it. It was super easy. No setup was needed on TV and I didn't need to create an account via iMediaShare. It even plays video in HD. It has many preselected Video providers including You Tube, CNN, Vimeo among many others. When you select You Tube, I was able to do a search and was able to play that on my TV. I was able to play video that I uploaded to You Tube, too. I was even able to play videos on my Kindle Fire on my TV. Very impressive App. I recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Puzzled at some of the vitriol here January 20, 2013
It works exactly as promised for me. A nice simple straightforward app with a very cool streaming feature.
I do not have to log into Facebook; it is obvious you can skip this step; many apps do this.
And I don't have to pay; there is a premium version but the free one works just fine for me.
Perhaps the instructions could be a little clearer because it looks like either people are having challenges getting it to work, unless there is someone who is deliberately trying to spread misinformation. I would hope it's the former because that's more correctable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even without a tv this is a nice app January 20, 2013

It's better than all of the detractors are leading you to believe.

First, click "skip login" unless you'd like to watch your Facebook videos.

Second, you can choose where you want to watch the selected video, locally on your phone or remotely on the tv. So even without a compatible DLNA set, this app functions as a large collection of video sources which take the place of dozens of dedicated apps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great to stream Galaxy S3 to PS3 January 20, 2013

I had the lite version installed, and thhis works perfectly. As someone else mentioned, you can just skip the fb logon.

There are a ton of free video sources available, and you can use the ps3 slideshow app to even play a fancy slideshow of your phone pics.

Basically, this turns your phone into a media server, much like built in Smartv features do, but without the ppv services.

This is fantastic...don't let the negative reviews fool you into skipping this...try it for yourself.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only some dlna or allshare tvs, asks for facebook login January 20, 2013
By Keith

Didn't work with my TV, as it didn't see it.

I didn't log into Facebook and I couldn't see internet videos, I couldn't,I see my TV either. This is a paid app, asking me to like it or link it to my Facebook account is wrong. You should pay me to advertise, not me pay you for the app and I pay to advertise for you. Just wrong.

Since it didn't work as it should, and the app store description doesn't even mention the DLNA or Allshare, I have no idea what is wrong or what it really takes to make it work. How about a list of tested TVs? Also I will not support a app that forces itself into my Facebook account. There is no reason for that, other then having me pay for the app AND advertise for them.

... edit

I have since found out the web site description is much better. I think most use the app store description. Someone said that not logging into Facebook only limits the Facebook videos. My TV wasn't seen by the app but my TV can see the internet. So the app didn't work for me. Even if you can skip Facebook, I don't like being asked everytime for me to login. Btw, I did see from the beginning that you can skip Facebook login. It just didn't work right, so I assumed it was because I didn't login. Which is true for most programs and I had no evidence otherwise.
