I bought a white Flipsit for our first floor bathroom. It's a great idea. This will make my germophobic family members very happy! A detachable version for travel would be most welcome.

UPDATE:
I just installed the Flipsit in my first floor bathroom. It's made of a durable and tough plastic so it should be difficult to break. Installation was simple - included with the Flipsit are detailed instructions, alcohol swab, and a drying pad.

My wife says this would be great for a house with a male toddler.

On the front of the packaging it says 'Antimicrobial'. If this is just a general advertising appeal that's fine. If, however, the Flipsit is actually made of an antimicrobial plastic then this feature should be mentioned more prominently in the marketing material.

Is this product removable and re-usable? Or is it one-time usage? Will this peel off the surface material off the lid of the seat i.e. wood? Does it leave a residue stick when you peel off? How often do you change the seat handle? What a great christmas stocking stuffer for all the men in the house.

Most people won't realize how brilliant Flipsit is. I realize Flipsit is meant to be a product you use in your home, but it's a shame public places don't use it on their toilets, too. Even the cleanest public bathroom is cleaned less than once an hour. Some toilet seats are only disinfected a couple of times a day. The toilet seat in your home is probably disinfected only once a week!

Why does that matter? Because 99% of antimicrobial sanitizers don't work properly.

Even Purell which is used in more public establishments than any other brand has a dirty little secret. Purell and all alcohol-based sanitizers will kill 99.99% of germs, but as soon as the alcohol dries, their protection vanishes. And germs will multiply until the bathroom is cleaned again.

With Flipset, you never have the touch the toilet set. So your chances of infection are greatly reduced.

It's a shame the US Government Center for Disease Control (CDC) has supported and promoted the use of alcohol-based sanitizers even though they know full well alcohol-based sanitizers only kill germs for the 5-7 seconds the alcohol is wet. Once the alcohol dries, the protection vanishes!

Of course, the same is true in your own home if you use an alcohol-based sanitizer on your toilet. That's why Flipsit is such a clever product. It helps protect you against germs where they are sure to lurk.

Touching the toilet lid and seat - even my own - grosses me out. These are peel-and-stick and work really well. They look a little dorky - like something you'd see at a hospital or a kid's training potty. But they are exactly what I wanted.

Tip 1: Make sure you place them in a spot where your legs won't hit.

Tip 2: If you are putting one on the lid and one on the seat, make sure you stagger them (so you can easily lift one instead of the other) but keep them close enough together (so you can lift both at the same time with one hand).

I have two warnings about this.

Warning #1: This is ONLY usable IF your toilet seat's underside is completely flat. If it has any sort of curvature at all, the Flipsit will peel off within weeks or months. Once it peels off, it never sticks back well and will continue to re-peel off until it falls off and becomes useless. This has happened to two others I've owned.

Warning #2: If your toilet top lid is closed as well AND you attempt to lift up both the lid and the seat together with just the Flipsit, the weight of the both lid and seat may cause the FLipsit to peel off. Once again, once it peels, it will NEVER adhere as well again leading to more re-peeling and an inevitable falling off. So NEVER, NEVER lift both lid and seat with the Flipsit. It's adhesive qualities are fragile.

I bought both a glow in the dark and white one. I've owned three so far for several months.

Customer service is good. They will send you a new one if one has peeled off within your warranty period.

Some engineering and marketing advice for the company:
1. This should be much cheaper and bundled (3-pack, 5-pack and 10-packs) since they are prone to peel off. If cheaper, people would also give an extra one away to friends, etc and help spread the word.
2. This can be made cheaper by using less plastic. It should be 50% THINNER which would give it much more FLEX. Currently, it's so thick that the piece acts as a lever where enough pressure would simply cause it to peel at the end. If it were very flexible, it would no longer act as a lever. It would also be 30% cheaper to produce.
3. Finally, the piece should not be one long rectangle. Instead, it should be shaped like a briefcase or a short "T".

My favorite aspect of product is that glows in the dark letting you letting you know when the a toilet seat is down or up. As for convince lifting the toilet seat that having to actually touch it is nice.
