4.0 out of 5 stars An Underrated Comedy
I didn't expect a lot from Rules of Engagement -- David Spade plus a couple of couples in different stages of their lives .... yeah, yeah.

But I found myself laughing a lot. Spade is used perfectly, which is to say, not too much. But the real revelation is Patrick Warburton, aka Puddy from Seinfeld. He plays the primitive, for sure, but finds a way to make his...

2.0 out of 5 stars Decent Show, Terrible Audio Mix
I like the show, but the versions available here on Amazon have a TERRIBLE audio mix that is driving me crazy. The laugh track and music track way dominate the volume of the actors audio track. It's frustrating because you turn the volume up to hear what the actors are saying and then BAM music starts in for a cut scene and it blasts your ears off. They REALLY need to...

They REALLY need to fix this. I tried adjusting my receiver mix so that the center channel (the only place the actors audio channel comes through) was louder, but the music and laugh track is REALLY LOUD on here too. You might want to go elsewhere for this show.

But I found myself laughing a lot. Spade is used perfectly, which is to say, not too much. But the real revelation is Patrick Warburton, aka Puddy from Seinfeld. He plays the primitive, for sure, but finds a way to make his character appealing enough for us to understand why his witty wife (Megyn Price) sticks around.

Oliver Hudson is cute, for sure. I want more from him, something like the magic his sister Kate made in Almost Famous. I'm willing to keep checking in with the show to see if he delivers.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great replacement for "Back to You"!, April 25, 2011
This review is from: Rules of Engagement Season 2 (Amazon Instant Video)
Hello, i've always been a David Spade fan ever since "Just shoot me" and "Capital one". He really knows the business of situational comedy and it's my humble opinon that this is his best effort to date.
Patrick Warburton charactor will finaly get that David Putty roll out of your head. He's an extreamly talented actor and this is great choice in the casting call!
Megyn Price is unknown to me but she kinda grows on me. I feel she is a very inteligent person and that allows her to go toe to toe with this sitcoms "A" list actors.
Biance Kajlich is another unknow actor to me. She uses her fantasic good looks and talented acting to make her roll one that viewers need to see each week.
Oliver Hudson for unknown, is Hollywood royalty. I'd guess that one day him and Bianca in real life become a married couple. The energy between then just can't be acting!
Adhir Kalyan is a strong actor although the script is fairly brutal for his roll.
I like the 2nd season the best, believe it or not, because the intro music is as fun as the show. I own every episode and re-watch them at work:D

I love this show. It's a great way to start out the week with something funny. The characters have def gotten better in the 2nd season. It's just a cute show and a great way to unwind after that first day back to work.
