It's great to always have a charged battery ready. I think the price for the 4 port charger at $40, plus the AC adapter for another $15, gets a little unreasonable. When you can get the 4 port charger, Ac adapter, and 6 batteries with the Blade MSR BNF for $129, if you look. If you do the math, thats like getting the MSR for $50! And you probably wanted one anyway! So now you would have 7 or more batteries, and at least 2 micro heli's, and with this charger you could always be flying!

Double Check Power Supply - Does not like 12 volts,

When using multiple E-flite devices, it is very important to always check which power supply you are using. If your wife moves your Blade SR charger's power supply and places it with your 4-Port charger because she's "tired of this crap on her counter", don't assume that just because it says E-flite that it's the right one. The voltage for the 4-port is 6 volts while the Blade SR is 12 volts. Imagine my surprise while I was in the bathroom when I heard a frantic knock on the door and the exclamation that one of the batteries just exploded and shot flames up. Two batteries destroyed and the charger no longer works. So, while this is a great charger, I highly recommend checking the labels before each use.

This is a great charger and works well. My buddies and I all now have one. We started with the Battle copters which originally charge the LiPo's through the transmitter. What a slow road to China that was! But, you have to be very careful when using this charger. It does not stop charging! It indicates when you are nearly charged by blinking an LED light for that corresponding port; which is good. The more fully charged that your battery is, the less it blinks. So the time between blinks gets longer and longer. Well, if you walk off and forget about it, you may have just overcharged a battery which ruins them. You may have a battery that you have left on the charger for a long time, but when you use it, the life is significantly shorter. In essence a 10 minute battery may now only last for 2. This charger works well, but cannot be trusted.

Keeps you flying - but it's too big,

This is a great charger having four ports. With the 110/120 mah batteries and a set of 5 you could pretty much keep flying.Things I like are multiple independent charge ports with individual indicator LEDs. No more trying to remember "which pile is charging and which are charged" as with the single port charger. And you get to keep flying a lot longer. What I don't like is primarily the size. This thing is huge and carves out a big chunk of your desk and also flight box. I understand that for batteries you'd need D-cells (or at least C-cells) to be able to cycling through batteries. What I'd like is for this to be a compact four (or more) slot charger (put it in a case the size of the single port) and have a separate battery box. As mine mostly lives in the bonus room the perfect combo for me would be {four+ ports; AC adapter} and I'd skip the battery holder. Others may want it all for flexibility - but please separate out the battery holder. It's also a bit expensive and for the price should be at least separate {4+ ports; AC adapter; battery box} With the newer larger batteries coming out (eg 150mah) and Heli's that suck them up quickly it would be nice to have more ports and maybe a charge rate option. In short - it's useful if not necessary - but bulky and a bit pricey.

Good addition to the MCX2,

I recently purchased a Blade MCX2 helicopter. I bought an extra LiPo battery also. The MCX2 came with a single LiLo charger which is itself powered by four AA batteries. I find this amazing. I guess that's fine if you're not near a wall socket you can still fly. But I can see my AA batteries are going to wear out pretty quick. The manual (yes, I did read it) notes that the optional EFLC1005 6V power supply may be purchased separately. I believe it's $15. The LiPo battery charger that came with the MCX2 has a prug in port designated for the EFLC1005 so that it can recharge the LiPo batteries from a wall plug. Sounds good to me. I intend to get one and save me the cost of batteries. And it will likely be much faster. Just wish I could recharge more than one LiPo at a time without having to purchase the $40 four-port Celectra.

Charger works as advertised. Batteries charge in less than 15 minutes even when all ports are charging. This affords the opportunity for more flying time as batteries are being charged at the same time you are using them. I can get a good hour of flying time anjd not loose a lick. My only problem is that the powersupply and charger are sold separately and both a little high priced.

I use this to keep my mCX heli batteries charged. I also picked up the AC/DC adapter for it. Now, I don't need to use Batteries to power the charger.Bobby T

Use this to keep 3 120mah and 3 150mah batts charged. Quick and efficient. Plug in the batts, plug in the charger, wait about twenty or so minutes at least for the 120s, unplug the charger, then pull the batts. Rinse and repeat. The batts are used on an mcx2 and an msr and this actually came packed with the msr bnf kit I bought. Awesome product for keeping these micro birds flying!

This charger worked well for a few months, then one of my 1S Lipo batteries went bad or was mis-charged after only a few uses. At the same time, one of the 4 Celectra ports went bad, which I did not realize until it destroyed a second battery. I'm not sure if the first battery killed a port, or if a bad port killed two batteries, but I've never seen a battery hurt a charger before, so the charger is faulty either way. Now it's a 3 port charger. The charger is huge so it can accept 4 D batteries, which I never use. As such, it needs a 6V AC adapter, but the case accepts a standard 12V size plug which is rare among 6V AC adapters, I guess so you have to use their brand adapter. The AC adapter's plug casing houses the transformer (even though the charger itself is huge) so it overlaps several empty outlets if you are using a power strip. If you need this, you probably have a collection of battery powered 1S chargers, it is a lot cheaper to convert them to AC and the size won't be that much different in the end. As one reviewer noted this charger comes with the Blade MSR including an AC adapter, which is a good tip.

Does a good job of charging single cell LiPo's.Sturdy and seems to be of good quality. Sometimes difficult to get batteries in properly. |
