Biography

Styles P., government name David Styles, is no ordinary rapper. He embodies true thug-life to the fullest, and then some. His blood gauging lyrics will leave you cringing and wounded. A hardcore runner whose thugged-out persona leaves admirers and challengers for the chase-and he's so far ahead of the game that there isn't anyone who's remotely close to catching up. 2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed April 22, 2013

I was really disappointed with this release as a long time SP fan. The usual high quality, high potency lyrical content was lacking. It came off lazy and like he devoted little effort.

4.0 out of 5 stars Float, 3.5 Stars September 14, 2013
Format:Audio CD
Styles P just keeps on cranking out albums and mixtapes, doesn't he? His last album "The World's Most Hardest MC Project" was only out for about five months before Float. He also released "The Diamond Life project" mixtape and a collaborative mixtape "#The1st28" with Curren$y in 2012, which consisted of all new music. If you're a big Styles P fan like I am, then you already know he puts out side projects like these all the time (The Green Ghost Project, The Ghost Dub-Dime), to keep his name buzzing.

On the intro "Float", Ghost gives you those hard bars you would expect, he spits "S P The Ghost and Scram Jones/ You don't want your brains on your man's foams/ You don't want my n***** in your fam's home/ You won't see s*** like you caught up in a sandstorm". "Manson Murder" features a rejuvenated N.O.R.E. and a few audio samples from Manson himself. Styles mocks wack rappers (If I rap like you I put the toast to myself), while N.O.R.E. has some funny lines (My favorite sex position is the 69/I f*** her at 6 while holding my 9).

Sheek Louch, the energetic member of the Lox appears on "Hater Love". They get love from the haters over Scram Jones funky gangsta beat. What would a Styles P album be without a weed anthem? He has one every album. Although "I Need Weed" doesn't compare to Good Times (I Get High) or Blow Ya Mind, its still a good track, he proclaims hes a NY n**** with West Coast lungs."Reckless" featuring Raekwon goes hard too. Whenever The Lox and Wu collab the song always turns out dope.

Styes P is lyrically on point as always, however some of his verses come off as mixtape material. Float is completely produced by Scram Jones and his production gets very redundant after a while.

2.0 out of 5 stars Weak. July 21, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
They should've released this as a free mixtape. Not worth the money at all. Long time Styles P fan so I'm not gonna come sideways with the review. Production is ok. Rhymes aren't focused. Sounds like they just threw this one together. Save your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars WISH IT WAS LONGER July 1, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
If you like Styles P then you will like this. Not much else to say except good beats and classic east coast gangster music that is more real than paying for weed with EBT swipes at bodega.
Good work here.
