Great story and great accurate information,
By A Customer
This review is from: Floating Home (Hardcover)
I love this book (as does my 3 yr old son). Its the story of a 8 yr olds space shuttle trip to draw her "home" from a new perspective. I really like that it is a great story but also has completely accurate detailed information about a trip on the space shuttle -- it gives a great description of what blasting off might feel like. Any child fascinated by space will love this book.

Precise children's book on space flights,
By Anna Kastner (Upstate New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Floating Home (Paperback)
Maxine has to do an art project for school: Draw your home from an unusual prespective. Maxine decides to draw home from space and takes a trip into space to finish her homework.
The author and illustrator of this book have done an outstanding job with their homework and give accurate details about space travels. So Maxine `s makers not only help Maxine to get into space but help young readers to get a first impression of what space flight is really like (no other space book I know mentions giant diapers or that the astronauts have to do without showers for a while). I think this book is a must-read, especially now that manned space flights have come to a halt (for a while?) in the US. |
