I hate to compare bands to others from the past, particularly when they're so clearly doing something very original. But for all the shoegaze fans out there who've been waiting for the next Loveless, just dig into this musician's work, both here and with Deerhunter. His name is Lockett Pundt, and he's damn good. Damn, damn good. Both Lockett and Deerhunter not strictly shoegaze, but they seem to have a very similar idea of 'pop' as My Bloody Valentine. A deal with the devil must've been struck or something, because midway through Cryptograms -- Deerhunter's second album -- it's like someone hit a switch, and all of a sudden they started creating absolutely incredible music, full of melody and noise and layers and haze and all that good stuff. This album continues their steady stream of quality since then, which includes the Fluorescent Grey/Rainwater Cassette Exchange EPs, and Microcastle/Weird Era Cont. I honestly can't believe I'm the only review on here at the moment- this guy's easily one of the most interesting musicians working right now. This album, I would say, is far more headphone-oriented than his work with Deerhunter, and more low-key, though never drowsy at all. It's really quite gorgeous in many parts. If you like your music to sweep you along, this'll be right up your alley.

Never not a good time to listen to this record!,

I couldn't agree more with the first review, I'm so glad these guys are starting to get the recognition they deserve as individual musicians. This record is best listened to during a REVELATION! An EPIPHONE! Buy it.
