Book Description

September 1995
Therapist John M. Eades has written this collection of provocative stories in the Southern tradion of O. Henry, Flannery O'Connor and Mark Twain, but with a psychological bent. The individuals you meet within these covers face moments of crucial insight, moments when life changes irrevocably--for better or worse. Through these tales of ordinary individuals in extraordinary circumstances, Eades helps you reflect on your own life and invites you to discover the inner resources that lead to true joy and fulfillment. Explored are such universal themes as love, motivation, courage, longing, loneliness, regret, faith and death. If you have questioned fate, struggled with life's challenges, longed for what might have been, fought that nagging feeling that something is missing, or grown tired of striving but never arriving, this book is for you. You will laugh and cry, but you won't be able to put down "The 7th Floor Ain't Too High for Angels to Fly."

Dr. Eades' stories are told so eloquently yet so simply that I am moved with each one. There is a marvelous twist at the end of each story that you do not see coming that jolts your very soul. Excellent read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Clever, entertaining, honest and enlightening!!, February 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The 7th Floor Ain't Too High for Angels to Fly: A Collection of Stories on Relationships and Self-Understanding (Paperback)
Dr. Eades developed his characters so well that I felt as though I knew each one personally. He has a way with words that soothe the aching soul, and shake the withering soul back into self-awareness. His writings do what many therapists have tried to do with me for years: they make me open my eyes!

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read, July 31, 2002
This review is from: The 7th Floor Ain't Too High for Angels to Fly: A Collection of Stories on Relationships and Self-Understanding (Paperback)
This was one of those books laying around the house that I finally picked up and read. I am glad that it caught my attention. I read it just at the right time...which is how it always works, right? While not a big fan of short stories, John Eades book was very enjoyable and often touching. Who knows, I may have even learned something about keeping what is important in life higher up the priority list and about who the real heroes are in this world.
