4.0 out of 5 stars Paul Weller returns to his roots, September 21, 2005
This review is from: From the Floorboards Up (Audio CD)
"From the Floorboards Up" is PWs latest single and sounds like a return to the fired-up energy of his early days in the Jam. The ragged-edged guitar riff hooks immediately, the chorus is urgent and the song powers along like PWs life depends on it. "Oranges and Rosewater" is a quiet contrast to the noisy A-side and includes some interesting Middle Eastern textures. All in all a great single. Can't wait for the album As Is Now in October.
