More About the Author

Award-winning reporter, environmental writer and photographer Lucy Beebe Tobias served with the New York Times newspapers in Florida for 23 years then retired to pursue writing/photo adventures in undiscovered Florida.

Her first book was "50 Great Walks in Florida", University Press of Florida, 2008. The walks are in botanical gardens, historic areas and unexpected places like walking on a beach in the moonlight.

Now in bloom - her newest book "Florida Gardens Gone Wild", 2011, digs into the soil and finds deep connections between nature, our community and ourselves. There are projects to do and trips to take. Read it on Kindle or Nook. The print version contains 58 wonderful photographs.

Whether you are a working gardener or a garden admirer, you will enjoy--and benefit from--Lucy Tobia's book. It's an easy read with plenty of references for the more technical reading. There's also lots of suggestions for gardens to visit (the I-can-hardly-wait kind). A favorite section, for me, is Part 2, Section 7. Enjoy.
