We're Jackson and Sara Mumey. Together, we've helped thousands of bar takers pass their exams across the country. As Christians, we particularly appreciate the opportunity to share our faith through our business.
Jackson is a Honors Graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, where he appeared on brief in several US Supreme Court Cases, became a Senior Teaching Fellow, and following law school passed the bar exam in 1992 using our predecessor course materials. He does not currently practice law, however, and instead devotes his full attention and energy to teaching the bar exam and developing innovations in our course offerings. Sara has spent many years in education and currently manages the office and administration of the courses.
We also have a staff of editors who have assisted us for many years and who are all members of one or more bars where we offer courses. Most of our editorial staff are former successful Celebration Bar Review students. Together with Jackson and Sara, they keep our materials current and accurate.
Our technical support is provided by our longtime partners at Origin Technologies who help develop our web-based courses and Apps for iPads, iPhones, Android and Nook devices.
As you can tell, Celebration Bar Review, LLC is a small, family-run operation. We currently work from our headquarters in New Orleans, LA with staff located throughout the United States. Since our company opened in 1995 in Celebration, Florida and during our time in business with thousands of successful bar takers, we've tried to treat every student like they were a part of our family. Other bar reviews may offer similar exam materials, but only our courses and instruction come with a personal, family touch. We think you'll agree with our past students that this is the very best way to study and pass your bar exam!
This book is awful. I bought it because Kaplan is a bit slack on their Florida MC questions. I did a little research and apparently this Celebration Bar Review is an expensive Bar Review course in Florida. So I figured it must be good. I was completely wrong. The grammar and spelling in this book were both HORRENDOUS (without exaggeration 1 out of every 5 questions had a word spelled incorrectly; had a run on sentence; or something horribly wrong with the sentence structure). The book contained Multiple Choice questions in subjects such as Con Law which AREN'T EVEN TESTED in Florida. They included Multiple Choice questions with the wrong answers (e.g. in Florida judicially noticed facts are never mandatory yet they have for one of their answers that it is mandatory). The book isn't formatted well, it looks like some undergrad kids got together and decided to come up with some MC questions and charge people for it. More formatting ugliness: Questions run onto the next page, there is no continuity in design, the font is ugly and weird, the product quality is just overall very cheap feeling, etc. Really, it looks AWFUL. My work product was better in casual outlines that I myself created for law school (no less a professional work product). The questions were really bizarre and didn't hit the main areas of any of the subjects. Some of the answers looked like the test makers gave up and didn't feel like coming up with difficult options to choose from. Really, this book was a complete and total let down and a waste of money. I hope this book is not any indication of how this bar program actually is run because ugh....
My suggestion to the people who run Celebration Bar Review: Clean this product up. The book is amateur in every sense of the word.
