This is an excellent book for the Florida bird watcher. It has large color photographs of the birds in their natural habitats. Often with more than one picture of the species! There is just enough information included to answer common questions. I use this book in my classroom and the elementary aged students find it useful and easy to use.

I have also used Florida's Fabulous Butterflies. Same excellent quaility!

Beautiful true to life photos of common Florida birds in their natural habitat. Very factual and informative.

We have had this book for years and years. We can always turn to it to identify an unknown bird. The pictures are excellent and the text is interspersed with interesting info about birds in general. I very highly recommend the entire Florida's Fabulous series of books, they're fantastic!

This is a beautiful book with great pictures and descriptions. The one disappointment is that--living on the Gulf side of Southwest Florida--we only recognize a few of these birds, so I guess we need a book on Florida's water birds in order to recognize more of "our" birds. Perhaps if we lived more inland or further north, we'd find the book more useful.

I found nothing in the product description that calls out this book's subtitle, "Land Birds: Their Stories" So, unless perhaps you selected to view the picture of the cover in a larger image, you could very likely miss this subtle subtitle in the lower right corner of the cover.

That said, the book itself does have very nice (and multiple) pictures of each covered bird, and the descriptions are just what I wanted as a casual observer.

As a new resident, living on the water in west-central Florida, I was more interested in "water birds" that frequent my back yard. I'll find the right book, but will keep this one as well.

We love this series of Florida books and own them all. As recent transpants to Florida, we appreciate the ease of determining exactly what bird we are looking at and what it's characteristics are. It is a huge help in determining which birds, big or small, that we have seen while hiking, biking, kayaking, etc. Easy to find the bird you want with the big colorful photos. Lots of useful info.

The "Florida Fabulous" series is excellent, and this book is no exception. I keep this book by my living room window so that I can quickly identify new birds. It does not have all the birds of Florida, just the most common. All in all, a great book for quick reference and for new bird watchers.
