Wish I was back on Siesta Key...in 1989,

Not one of Jimmy's most popular or well-known, but this 1986 release is an all-time favorite of mine. This is the album I listen to when I'm alone and I want to be alone. This album puts me in a comatose state where bittersweet sadness washes over me. This collection of songs is mostly on the sad-side, but if you gotta look back now and then with regret, this is the soundtrack.
1. I love the now - A good, foot tapping opener. 2. Creola - A long song measuring at exactly 7 minutes. A perfect tune to zone out to as you watch the smoke rise from whatever it is you're smoking. 3. First Look - It will remind you of her. 4. Meet me in Memphis - This will too. 5. Nobody Speaks to the Captain no more - A song of regret and loss. Nice mix of beach music feel with saxophones. 6. Floridays - I can just play this one over and over and over. God I miss home 7. If it all falls down - It has for most of us. Just open another bottle and wash it down and away. 8. No plane on Sunday. - A predicament we'd love to be in. If only she was really there. 9. When the Coast is Clear - One of my all time Jimmy favorites. I've already put in my will that when they dump my ashes on Siesta Key, they'll play this song at my funeral. 10. You'll never work in dis bidness again - This is a good song, but doesn't really fit in with the feel of the rest of the album. It's uplifting and if you've ever tried your hand at a musical career, this is right up your alley. See ya on the beach!

Only MY Opinion, but...,

next to Changes in Latitudes-Changes in Attitudes, this is the best Buffett album in the entire 30+ year span of his music. If your job allows it, take it and play it there, you'll be guaranteed a day that goes by at a much more plesant pace. This CD spans the Buffett slant on Rock, Creole, Beach Music, Soul, Ballads and his songs about life in general. If "No Plane On Sunday" doesn't tell the best beach love story ever, I don't know what does. Don't forget to search out the Don Blanding book of Florida Poetry which was the inspiration for this CD-"Floridays"ÿ

FLORIDAYS is one of Mr. Buffett's absolute, hands down BEST! This CD is for True Jimmy Buffett fans only! If you are a "Parrothead" of the Why Don't We Get Drunk and Cheeseburger groove, you might be disappointed. But if you are ready to discover the gen-u-ine Buffett, this is a good primer. Spin this CD, sit back, close your eyes and I promise you'll hear the ocean waves and feel the warmth of the sun............mmmmmm........Floridays...........
