Chinese Quality

Polishable leather. Very soft. No break-in period required. Comes with waxed laces and a lug sole for traction. The look of a dress shoe. The comfort of a high top sneaker. Goodyear welt so that you can re-sole when needed.

Florsheim once stood for quality. It used to be that Florsheim stores were everywhere. Over the years, their shoes really went down hill; to the point that you can't even find a Florsheim store anymore. That usually happens when companies are sold, mismanaged, and then the brand is de-valued and "put on the shelf". The company is now owned by members of the Florsheim family again. The shoes have gotten a little better.

A comfortable boot that you can wear with your business suit. I would have no problem with wearing these with semi-formal black tie, or even formal white tie. Works just as well with a pair of jeans, or even in a uniform.

Polish with Lincoln USMC Black Stain Wax Shoe Polish.

Very Happy.....

I like when a shoe lives up to the hype and this one does. Fits perfect, looks great and the color I was looking for. I do remember Florsheim's having stores all over when I was a kid and wondered what happened to them. I hear the original family has the business back and it shows with the product. I'm gald I made the purchase.

Brand loyalty broken

A year ago my wife bought for my birthday a pair of Florsheim Gaffney boots Wing tip from Amazon. Giving them a normal urban wear, I found a week ago the chamois had split from the leather.
My father and I had been buying Florsheim shoes for years, always praising the life-time quality as one of Florsheim best brand-promises.
Actually,it's the first time this happens to me with one of their products.
I wrote to customer service, they asked for location, wich was given in the email, and after sending another e-mail to remind them I was there waiting for an answer (any...) they did not wrote again (this was 2 weeks ago).
I love brands with history connected with good quality, like Barbour and Red Wings. I'm more into having few good stuff than a bunch of china-express made articles. But the poor customer service I've received from Florsheim regarding a quality issue will make me look in other brand-direction.

Great shoes for 3 months

Originally I was very pleased with my purchase of these Florsheim Wingtip boots until the sole of the heal came off today. I purchased this particular pair on October 11th and just noticed the heal peeling off today March 13. So in total this purchase lasted me 5 months at the going rate of $150.00. The boots are comfortable and extremely water resistant, but I now have to go and pay a cobbler to have them repaired after less than 6 months. You may have better luck, but I would rather go to a brick and mortar store, or purchase them from Zappos rather than going through Shoes (dot com) on Amazon.

Florsheim Still Seems Like Quality Footwear

Got these for my college son to wear this winter around campus. They are a bit darker than expected but he still likes them. Worn for a week and they still look brand new even through all the snow we've had here in MI right now. We did treat them with Gr**g*r shoe treatment. I'd like to check back in in about a year and edit this. I'm a bit jealous that he got them and not me!

BEAUTIFUL AND COMFORTABLE

I got the high polished chestnut color which is a handsome look with dress pants or jeans/dockers. They dress up anything. Comfortable and fit like a glove. Once you're in them you don't want to take them off. Run true to size. They come in a good strong dark cardboard box and each shoe also has its own microfiber sleeve. Fancy.
