I purchased this shoe to replace a set of Bass Weejuns, which I have been purchasing since a teenager (that is, for a very long time). I wanted a shoe with something other than leather soles that wouldn't slip on wet surfaces or my hardwood floors. The Florsheim Alturas was perfect. The sole doesn't slip, the shoe is more comfortable that the Weejuns, the lining is very good, and the shoe fits true to the size ordered. I ordered another pair in the other color and will continue with Florsheim products.
