I literally wore these shoes for 4 hours and the leather surface is flaking off. Anywhere the shoe bends or moves the shoe is cracking and peeling. It looks as if the shoe was given a bad paint job and it's all coming off. I'm not the first reviewer to have this problem, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Florsheim has always produced quality shoes although the shoes are not produced in the United States. The penny loafer is the most appealing shoe style. Buy a wider size than you would normally take. If your normal size is 9B, buy a 9D because sizing seems to be narrow.

I wear dress shoes often, 3-5 days a week. Although I have tried to buy different shoes for some variety, this is the only shoe I buy because it is so comfortable compared to other dress shoes. I could not recommend any other shoe. I have to recommend this shoe. It is the most comfortable shoe I've worn. I have had over ten pairs of these shoes. Since I wear a size 14, they are hard to find in a retail store. I was very glad to find them on Amazon.

This is the third pair I have purchased. Normally I purchase them in a store, but this time I decided to try this Amazon partner. I purchased these for my brother and he loves them. They were shipped quickly to him and came in perfect condition. I will purchase from this vendor again.

I was a bit skeptical at first about ordering shoes on line. All that went away when the shoes arrived even sooner than anticipated and were everything the ad said they were. High quality, reasonable price and timely delivery. No need to hit the malls trying to find a store that carried the style and size I was looking for. I would not hesitate to shop Amazon again.

Worn Florsheim since I was a teenager...some 40+ years....have a pair that has lasted some 20+ years.....and unlike so many other brands the sizing and the leather and the workmanship are still excellent. The penny loafers are still chic and stylish and superb for casual dress,

I currently wear a Bostonian loafer with a leather sole and it wears well. I purchased this Florshiem loafer with a hard sole and it wears great also. The Bostonian is black and the Florshiem is burgandy. They are both a compliment to my activities. They both feel like a dress shoe should feel and they walk like a wingtip.

I was looking for a quality loafer at a reasonable price and was happy to find the Florsheim Berkeley Loafer for around $55. I purchased these shoes back in August 2011 and basically wore them 4 to 5 days a week to work. The quality, comfort, and fit were fantastic - 100% Florsheim. And yet the following December, only five months later, I was astonished to find a hole in the left sole, despite the fact I never did any serious walking in them during this time. I suppose I could take them in to be re-soled, but that could easily cost more than half of what I paid for them to begin with.

I purchased a pair in March 2011 and wore them daily. The sole on the left shoe wore through in December 2011.
