I originally ordered a pair of Nunn Bush Oxfords, the same color and style, but somehow the order go mixed up and they didn't ship the saddle shoe.

With an important event coming up, I didn't want a return hassle, so I ordered the Florsheim Oxford (and paid for next day delivery) as seen here. When I received them I was impressed with the materials and quality of workmanship. And slipped them on. They were a bit tight, so I had to use a pair of thin socks.

Even though they were a bit tight, I figured being leather they would break in and wore them to the event, which as a day long.

Lord, I was so glad that day was over! By the time I got home it felt like the bottom of my feet were put in a vice, the side cut is too high and dug into the bottom of my ankle bones all day, and I was left with a 1/2 dollar size blister on the back of my right foot. That was one of the most miserable days in my life!

You may say that the blister could have been prevented by some thicker socks, and you would be right, however the side cut digging into the ankles left for a painful day. Before I came home I stopped by Wal-mart and bought 3 different types of insoles hoping it might make the difference, I really love the style, but it was a no go. Even with insoles (Dr. Sholes gells with arch support and 2 other brands) the side cut still dug into my ankles.)

The next day, I put on the pair of Nunn Bush shoes and they were like down pillows compared to the Florsheim Oxfords. So, I gave them both a full-day fair "trial run" (no pun intended). Hands down the Nunn Bush Oxfords are by far the brand that I will stick with. I doubt I would ever consider another pair of Florsheim's after my grueling experience.

I gave them 2 stars. One for the no-hassle return and one for the free return postage label.
