The Tempest is a multi-purpose pump for a variety of household dewatering tasks including sump draining, emptying ponds and aquariums. Thermoplastic construction, corrosion-resistant, submersible utility pumps are portable and lightweight. Ideal in any application where you need to remove water where it is not wanted. Perfect for pumping basements, draining puddles and pumping from cisterns and sumps. Also featured is the new, automatic utility pump, the IntelliPump. Just plug this pump in and it automatically checks for traces of water. It's the utility pump with a brain.

This non-corrosive, high strength thermoplastic utility pump is lightweight and portable. Ideal for sump pumping; draining window wells and cisterns; and recirculating waterfalls and decorative fountains. Pumps to 1,140 GPH; bottom suction pumps down to3/16". Continuous duty, oil-cooled motor has overload protection. 8' grounded, replaceable power cord. Includes garden hose adapter. 1" NPT discharge. UL Listed.

The pump is rated for 840 GPH at 10' rise, or 1200 GPH with 0' rise. We have used it to pump water 10' up out of our basement sump well, at an incredible speed. More than enough power to replace failed sump pump. Quiet operation. Garden hose attachment. The directions advise not to operate in less than 4" of water for long periods of time. Operates short term in 1/2" of water.

Flotec Tempest 11-I now have 3 of them.I use them for pumping water out of my backyard when it floods. Very reliable and has a safety shutoff when it begins to overheat.

This pump is handy, easily moved around, pumps down to 3/16", but cannot be left to work as needed as water rises or falls. It should not be left to run when there is no more water to pump.
