5.0 out of 5 stars 840 GPH with 10' rise
The pump is rated for 840 GPH at 10' rise, or 1200 GPH with 0' rise. We have used it to pump water 10' up out of our basement sump well, at an incredible speed. More than enough power to replace failed sump pump. Quiet operation. Garden hose attachment. The directions advise not to operate in less than 4" of water for long periods of time. Operates short term in 1/2" of...

3.0 out of 5 stars good pump, but with limitations
This pump is handy, easily moved around, pumps down to 3/16", but cannot be left to work as needed as water rises or falls. It should not be left to run when there is no more water to pump.

Flotec Tempest 11-I now have 3 of them.
I use them for pumping water out of my backyard when it floods.
Very reliable and has a safety shutoff when it begins to overheat.

5.0 out of 5 stars durable, January 11, 2012
This review is from: Flotec FP0S1250X-02 Tempest II 1200 GPH Utility Submersible Pump (Tools & Home Improvement)
I just replaced this pump after 7-9 years of brutal pumping in a sump pit. The pump still works fine, but the paint was bubbling and the case was rusting. I opened it up and water had not yet entered the motor. I cleaned up the pump and kept it as a backup. The sump pump I had prior to this one only lasted a few years.
