This 1/2 HP, built-in shallow well pump jet from Flotec is ideal for wells with pumping levels of 25 feet or less. Featuring a corrosion-resistant nozzle and venturi, this model offers superior performance at capacities to 10 GPM at 40 PSI. It works by self-priming after the pump housing is initially filled with water. The fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastic construction provides incredible corrosion resistance, as well as resistance to sandy water. The dust-proof cover protects all electrical components from dust and insects, thus resulting in a longer-lasting motor. With a stainless steel shaft, heavy duty ball bearings, balanced rotor, mechanical shaft seal and insulated motor windings, the pump's powerful motor delivers non-stop operation for years to come.

I installed this pump with a small cistern at my vacation home. Works perfectly. It's quiet and the installation was very simple (I'm not a contractor or a plumber). I would highly recommend this pump for your water system.

We purchased the Flotec FP-00L Shallow Well Pump Jet to replace a another make/model we were using on our cistern. When attaching the PVC piece to the outflow side my husband hand tightened the fitting and then tried to give almost 1/4 further turn with a wrench to secure the fitting was on tightly. The black plastic on the pump split rendering the pump virtually useless. Disappointing.

Good pump, runs great, runs relatively quiet. In my video review it sounds really loud, but that's because my camera's microphone is right in front of it. It's not that loud. Once the cabinet doors are closed, it's just low-level back round noise in the house when it kicks on.

Piece of advice; there's two, quarter inch plugs on the front of pump... take them out, remove and reapply the Teflon tape and re-tighten. They leaked on me during my initial start up.

My old pump was a very expensive convertible Simer jet pump that the previous owner had bought and installed, and I wouldn't have replaced it except I accidentally let it freeze and the housing cracked (which is why I moved this installation inside under my cabinets). The Simer pump was high quality and definitely worth what the previous owner paid for it. The point I'm coming to here is... this pump, so far, out performs the Simer and this one is less than half the cost. It's quieter, gives more pressure, and fills the bladder tank a lot faster than the Simer did. They're both 1/2 HP 115V pumps. I'm very impressed.

The true test will come over time. If in the future I run into any issues, I'll update.

I've never done any kind of plumping work or messed with any kind of well water system before. I did a little book and internet research before starting and what you saw is the result. If I can do it, anyone can :)
