Nu Flow review,
This review is from: Nu Flow (Audio CD)
OK their lyrics ARE a bit weak but the girls' harmonies and the boys' rapping are brilliantly intermingled. And the arrangements are outstanding in particular the Walz time "Favourite Things". Nu Flow is the other cool track - trying playing it on your car stereo on a hot day with the windows open and watch the heads swivel. The boys are from the US, Africa and the UK and the girls all cite very different musical influences - this blend of influences makes their music very individual and personal. Big Bro live together in the same house in London (but are not romantically linked). This closeness seems to give them a special tightness in performance and they have real stage presence live. If they can just improve the lyrics (get rid of the bling blings for a start) they should do great things.

now all you people that are trying to compare britsh music to american are talking out there back side, im sorry but its true, you can not compare to completly differant courties music and class them as being the same, the basics are there, rapp, a hectick beat and ... girls but apart from that its completely differant. big brovaz are from london, london at the moment is on garage music, but slowly this is dying out, bir brovaz were being clever, coming up witht here own style of music which is differant to the rest of the jusic on the market and believe it or not, like it or not it sells. it has a beat to it that is differant to anything else, i live in london, born and bred and well i like both american and british mudic but not when people with no experiance of both begin to judge it, london and england as a whole are 50% hip hop and r & b, but america isnt like thius with british music. big brovaz ur style is wacko, a group with its own fashiopn, style, beat and buff gals!

Firstly, to bro-sic-maite, don't try to comment on a music scene that you don't know 'bout. True say what you have heard of UK music is commercial and meaningless but the artists producing this music, like big brovaz, have bere funding behind them from big record companies who want to cash in. The way to do this is produce commercial music with mass appeal. However what you aint heard is all the underground UK hiphop which is beginning to get more recognition. Just listen to artists like Blak twang, Mystro, Klashnekoff, Rodney P, 57th Dynasty, Kyza, Jehst and the Outdaville crew to name only a few and you'll hear what the UK is really about.Maybe Big brovaz wouldn't ba able to afford as much of the 'bling' that they rap about if they kept it real and didn't put on US accents, but they would at least have the respect of tru hiphop fans. At da end of the day its all bout priorities, real music or money. Big up all da UK massive keepin' it true to da streets!

This is the best new hip-hop group I've heard in years. I can't believe a few of the reviewers criticized the "American" sound, I lived in Atlanta for 4 years and I think it holds. The music is catchy and easy to sing along with. It's also refreshing to see a British group in this genre of music.

Big Brovaz, Big Talent,

This album is truly great! From the 1st single and anthem 'Nu Flow' to the sweeping ballad 'Baby Boy'this album doesnt disappoint! Every track offers something different and each member of the group gets to display their amazing vocal/rapping talents...other highlights include the uptempo second single 'ok', the funky 'gotta get' and 'dont matter'. Alot of people are comparing BB to Outkast, but they truly shine and stand out on their own and any true r'n'b/hip hop fan would be proud to have this album in their collection. A winner!

This cd is absolutely amazing. There are 3guys and 3girls in this group and their voices mix beautifuly together to compile this amazing cd with a hip-hop/RnB beat. Their two singles "Nu flow" and "O.K" are also on the album aswell as two of my favourite songs "gotta get" and "baby boy". This album is fab. and if you're having a problem deciding whether to buy it or not, i'm telling you now you'll regret it if you don't. It's a great album to add to your music collection.

Why does the UK produce so much bad commercial music?,
By "bro-sic-maite" (Adelaide, Australia) - See all my reviews

I dont understand why the British pop music market is filled with sooo much bad music. I find that most commercial artists have a career that lasts just about as long as a roll of toilet paper does. Take Big Brovas as an example. Rather than producing music that is orignal and half decent, they incorporate all the bad things that the US counterparts has produced. They put on an american accent and the lyrics are extremely weak. None of so called rappers seem to have much talent themselves. I think that any 14 year old could write better material than these wanksters. Remember the so called bad boys of pop - 5ive? And remember the Spice Girls? Where are they now? Like so many carppy artists in the past I think that Big Brovaz are going to end up in the rotting heap of artists that have passed their used by date. There are many talented UK R&B artists out there and same with rappers. I suggest that if you want to listen to a good album then listen to the Streets. Now thats quality, original and an album that "keeps it real!" - not like this crap!! I would have given this a -5 star if i could. |
