Slow and Dark,

Got turned onto this via an Bonnie "Prince" Billy Interview. He duets on a couple of tunes. Love the slow pace of this. Sparse and beautiful--mostly her and a piano. The subject mater is dark too, mostly reworked covers. I Especially like Black Sabbath's "Changes" and the song "Without You" which has been covered by others including Heart. If you like Nick Cave's masterpiece, The Boatman's Call, you'll get this. Some might call it "depressing; I find it refreshing.

I heard her on a podcast sing one song from this album and I was hooked. What a remarkable singer. I purchased all four of her albums immediately. When the world is shaking and your body is as well, let her soothe you.
