Indie Book of the Day for March 19, 2013

"Fast-paced global thriller that would make a great movie," Bill Reynolds, Providence Journal, April, 2013

From the Author

I started Flower of Heaven in 1987, twenty-five years ago and never thought I would actually finish it.  I'm glad I did.  Once I saw the finished product, I was quite pleased with the outcome and from the many emails and letters I receive, the readers are pleased as well.  In August, 2014, I released the sequel, Dangerous Bloodlines, and the response has been overwhelming. The story continues with more excitement and intrigue than the original.

What a great read!!! The author quickly and intimately connects you with each character and then takes you on a thrilling odyssey of both romance and international intrigue. This is the first time that I have read a book from cover to cover almost nonstop, and anxiously did so because I had a burning curiosity to know what drama was going to play out in the next chapter. Mr Ayotte, you really nailed it, and I look forward to your next novel.
P.S. I bought the Kindle version for my wife and I, and am now buying the paperback version for my non-techie relatives whom I know will thoroughly enjoy this fine novel. Buy this book--you will not be disappointed!!

With it's carefully developed characters and settings ranging from global to local, this is the kind of book that you will finish in two...maybe three sittings. My wife and I recently read it on vacation in 2 days. If you are from Rhode Island, it is even better because of all the local references. If you have ever been inside a rectory or in New England during the winter, you will know what I am talking about.

Character development in Flower of Heaven is especially good. You will get to know the characters as well as you know some of your friends. One of the differences between a good book and a really good book is visualization. In Flower of Heaven, your mind's eye takes you to more places than most people will ever go. You will have the same experience that the characters do. All authors shoot for this, but most fail. This one didn't. For the entire time that you are reading, you experience new and exciting things. I have never been to Paris, but now I have a very intimate knowledge of it. I don't know if the author ever lived there, but it certainly feels like he did.

From Paris, France to Lincoln, Rhode Island you will not be disappointed.

If you are looking for a book that will take you in immediately and then sweep you off your feet, this is it. Mr. Ayotte weaves romance, intrigue, mystery and suspense with beautiful imagery. I haven't read a book so fast paced since the Davinci Code. The multi-dimensional characters are well developed. Definitely movie material. The scenes in Paris are so explicit you feel as if you are really there. I can not wait to see what Mr. Ayotte is writing next!

This book has many twists and turns. A priest looking for his Sons, a common French girl marrying into Royalty, a murder plot based on greed and power and a love story are all part of the mix. The Author does a wonderful job of blending all this together and makes each situation believable. The story holds your interest from start to finish. It was a very enjoyable read.

Read this book and loved it. It is easy to read and hard to put down. This novel definitely has a chance at becoming a movie.

Great story, written by a Rhode Islander. I like the writer going from present day to the early days of the character

I read this book in 3 nights, and loved every chapter! Once I started reading, I hated to stop each night. Mr. Ayotte, Flower of Heaven was well written, with excellent characters and a unique story line. An unexpected plot, a bit of romance, a bit of thriller.....I just might reread it again! We all will be waiting for "what comes next...."

Every thriller (or book for that matter) requires a suspension of disbelief...this one does not deliver. The author tries hard, but just does not hit his mark. A good premise, just not a well written account of it.
