I got this book for a friend of mine that has been looking for embroidery patterns. She's pleased with it and appears to be enjoying it, so I'd say this is a good book and certainly at a great price.

As others have mentioned it is quite a large file, but I'd rather have a large file than have a small file without enough detail to follow.

A fascinating and creative book on Embroidery, specifically on flower motifs for embroidery, that I think will help many people get their creative juices flowing!

If you want a practical straightforward ebook with plenty of flower choices, this is excellent and it downloaded quickly to the Kindle App on my iPad. There is brief and straightforward advice here for a selection of stitches, and methods for transferring motifs but is chief joy is that it is a real treasure trove of flower outlines and arrangements, clearly and simply presented, ready for the embroiderer to use.

The outline format means that the shapes are helpful and inspiring to anyone who is a textile creative. The flower designs range from the single motif to small arrangements, both with and without leaves, I found these 'groups' helpful as I often fuss trying to find nice arrangements and this gives me a good base to start from. There is a whole host of different styles and there will be something for every flower embroidered here.

An investment to get your creative inspiration flowing.

Thanks so much for the free Embroidery Motifs. I'm a beginner at Crazy Quilting - and this will be very helpful and will give me some 'fresh' ideas for my blocks. Again - thank you!

First of all, Flower Motifs for Embroidery is a huge ebook, almost 3 Mb resulting from the use of so many images. It wouldn't take very many books of this size to fill up your Kindle.

The book begins with images of instructions for 14 basic embroidery stitches. The diagrams and instructions appear to have been cut from an embroidery book. The book says it includes 126 flower motifs. Many designs are repeated more than once in the book, but the total different designs is probably 126. The author might want to consider removing some of the duplicates to reduce the book size. Unfortunately, many of the design images appear to have been manipulated and pulled out of shape by improper resizing. There are no instructions, suggested stitches, or examples of the finished product, just the barebones outlines of flowers and trees. I would have liked to have seen at least a few of the designs actually embroidered, but the book description is clear that this is not an instructional book. The book does include information about using a light table as well as a couple of alternatives for transfering the design to the fabric.

The whole idea seems a little off to me. There are many websites which offer free flower motifs on the internet with the advantage that you could save the pattern, resize it, and print the design for use, something which you can't do from a Kindle. Just a few minutes googling for free flower motifs resulted in several nice websites. Over all, though, I suppose the book is worth the small price but it seems that it would be more useful from the Kindle4PC than from the Kindle device.

As an aside, I visited the author's websites. She is a hugely talented doll maker. Now that would make a fantastic book!

I downloaded this to my PC, and liked that she had one border, some trees, a few more detailed motifs. Some of the simpler flowers did nothing for me, but I do think this author might have the beginnings of a good thing here. Some had very wide outlines, but then it would make them easier to trace.

I was looking for flower outline designs for a different craft project, and I found some here. I can't comment on their usefulness for embroidery.

It is a good idea sharing patterns and quick sugestions for hand embroidery. Maybe there could be a little more text about the subject

There's a whole lot packed into this book. It covers across the board designs from the classics to the very simple. Whatever use you have in mind, you're sure to find at least one example of in this book. It's a pretty hefty book on the topic. I do wish that pages had them divided into sections where I could easily locate the patterns that I might be after, but even so, the book is a great find and one I'm happy to have as a resource. All in all a handy book to have if you're looking for patterns to draw from.

I found this book helpful with useful, basic stitching information and very pretty flower designs to use.

The book mostly has designs that can be incorporated into fabric and I agree that when one has limited time, it's nice to have a bunch of designs all in one place, ready to be used.
