I admit. I am a great fan of Charles Reid, and think he is one of the best watercolor painters, ever. When I started watercolor painting I was living in Italy, which does not have the tradition of workshops and artist-teaching that we have in the states, therefore, I had to more or less teach myself this difficult but beautiful craft. There are many good books on watercolor technique, but I found myself drawn to Charles Reid's lovely renderings from the beginning. I have bought almost every book he has published, and feel he gives excellent step-by-step and exhaustive explanations. I would also recommend his videos for a more in-depth and deeper understanding of his painting methods. His books are, I believe, a must for any serious watercolor painter.

Loosey-goosey watercolors that everyone aspires to do but few achieve. Charles Reid is inspirational, creative with wonderful techniques to try and master.

I just got this book and it looks pretty good. That's what I need to learn to paint loose.
I think it's a great book to learn from. I have not try it yet but will definitely give it a try.
