Product Description

Press flowers fast using your microwave oven. This easy-to-use large 9" x 9" flower press dries and presses a wide range of flowers, leaves and other flora in seconds to minutes depending on the power of your microwave and the type of flora being pressed. To dry flowers you place them between two fabric liners, two pads and two perforated platens- all supplied. This sandwich is held together with four heavy-duty clips. Then all you do is pop the flower press in your microwave, turn it on high and let the moisture be drawn out. You'll love it because of the control you retain over pressing, the fast results you get and the better color retention. The microwave flower press kit comes with an eight page instruction booklet. The cotton liners can be washed repeatedly and the pads will last for hundreds of cycles. This flower press is a great addition to your craft supplies or a wonderful gift for kids, parents or grandparents.

For years, I've pressed flowers the old fashioned way... in books, in a homemade press, etc. This press, though a bit pricy for what it turns out to be, does a great job preserving leaves and flowers faster than I could have ever done without it. You do have to experiment with it at first to avoid burning or cooking your specimens, but the instructions are very clear about how to do this. The end result is usually more vibrant colors, quick, even drying without brittle leaves (providing you are careful), and finally, a beautiful portrait. For anyone considering what size to get, the bigger one is definitely the one you want. The smaller one just won't hold the number of leaves or flowers you'll want to put in there. In fact, I wish I'd purchased two! One to fill while the other was in the microwave or cooling.

This works really fast! It takes a lot of experimenting because every flower is different. But it is easy to use and you can produce dried flowers in a matter of seconds instead of weeks and know right away if the flower you have chosen will work in your project or it you have to go out and collect some more.

This press is a godsend for impatient people. I can pick, press, mount, UV-protect and frame my flowers in one afternoon. I press the flowers in 3-4 30second bursts in the microwave, and have never had trouble with burning. I'm in love with it.

I purchased the press because my fiance shot down my suggestion of spending $700 to preserve my bouquet (yes...$700!!!) I was so happy with my bouquet I also pressed the alter flowers. Buy the big one or you will spend FOREVER pressing. Even with this one it took my husband and I ages and we worked as a mini assembly line. If you do it on your own it will take longer.
Here is what worked for me: 30 seconds-open to cool-15 seconds-open to cool-if necessary then add 10 seconds. Immediately press in a book until you plan to use it. I never burned a single flower. I did not like the way the hydrangeas came out. They were pale purple (almost white). White does not look pretty. If your flowers are white don't bother. The rest of my flowers were shades of purple.
Here are the ones that pressed best: Orchids (GORGEOUS!), Lisianthus (similar to roses), snap dragons in a dark and light shade of purple with green leaves, leaves (of course), carnations in a dark and light shade of purple (we cut the bottom off and pressed the petals). Purple callas came out okay. The color wasn't exact. The other flowers' colors came out exact to the live flowers. Very rich. If you have colorful flowers (not white!!!) press them.
I am getting floating frames and putting the flowers around an 8X10 wedding portrait for our parents and then a huge one for us with our portrait in the top right corner and our invitations in the lower left corner. The snapdragons are going to cascade around the edges beautifully and the orchids will look like they are floating!

This product is awesome. My niece introduced the Flower Press to me at a family reunion recently. Soon as I got home, I had to order one for myself. It was received in a well-packed box with no damage. I've been using it for months and am amazed at the results. I am a gardener and have pressed everything in my back yard and even some indoor plants. I started with specialized bookmarks for gifts and plan on framing some and maybe doing laminated place mats for my table.
I bought a Scotch Brand Thermal Laminator which works very well. Pressing On....
