Flower In A Storm Flounders, September 30, 2010
This review is from: Flower in a Storm, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
After reading the first volume of Flower In A Storm, I couldn't wait to read the second and final volume. When I got it, it was soon apparent that it wasn't worth the wait. The first volume is sweet, funny, and exciting, while the second is more convoluted. The progress made in the first volume is inexplicably set back, and with old and new characters getting in the way, it's harder to get to a happy ending. This volume has a rushed feel and lacks most of the wit and sweetness that made the first volume so loveable.
Among the events in this volume are Rinko, a girl claiming to be Ran's fiance trying to force a marriage, a strange Christmas which has Riko angsty and confused, Ran's old 'friend' Chiaki trying his best to ruin their relationship, and old and new assassins making trouble for Ran. We also get to meet Ran's father, who is a complete cad, and see Ran in business mode, which feels strange.
Although there are some amusing things about this volume, it lacks the heart of its predecessor. If you get it, get it with low expectations so you won't be let down. Far inferior to the first volume.

Ok, I usually don't write reviews but I had to say something when I saw there were no reviews so far.
First off, vol. 1 was awesome! totally loved it.
When I read this vol [final volume so not far!] I was a little disappointed, in vol. 1 she thinks he's crazy, again and again, but she slowly starts to like him, but wasn't really able to realized that to herself, but in this volume, right off the bat she likes him and wants to tell him----? I'm sorry but I had a wtf moment when I was reading this, I was even going to go back and reread the first one to make sure I was following it right, but then I remembered I let my friend borrow it so that was 10min wasted tiring to find it in my room lol. But I think the confusion was worth it in the end, I just wish this was the kind of manga that go's on and on for like 20 volumes....sign the one's you want to last never do sign.
I look forward to read more storys from this author. ^w^
