Best CD I've purchased in years,

This is the first Sean Hayes album I've owned (purchased it after hearing "All for Love" on KEXP), and to say that I'm impressed would be a vast understatement. This could be one of the best albums I've ever heard. In terms of musical excitement, this album did for me what the Beatles' Rubber Soul, Led Zeppelin's I, Ben Harper's Fight for Your Mind, Paul Pena's New Train, and very few others have done. Mr. Hayes pours his emotions into a haunting but lovely vibrato that perfectly harmonizes with his virtuosity on the guitar and banjo. Support Sean Hayes! Buy this album, and any other he produces!

An absolute must buy!!,

This guy is endlessly talented. His music combines notes of folk, jazz, and pure soul. His voice has an amazing quality to it, hard to explain but impossible to forget; very raw and pure. Each track is different and wonderful. You wont be disappointed, buy this CD.

A truly phenomenal CD. Simple yet experimental, amazing use of voice, dynamite backup musicians. I want more of this!

This is one of the best full albums I've heard in a long time. I'll make no bones about it, this is one scruffy looking dude, so if your major appeal to music is the marketing, this might not be for you. However, if you love music that is well and thoughtfully written, this is really going to melt your butter. This album is great for a mellow night. His lyrics are sharp and the vocals are effortlessly beautiful.
If you enjoy this I highly recommend looking into its predecessor "Big Black Hole and the Little Baby Star" which is, honest to God, equally as amazing. |
