3.0 out of 5 stars Complete your collection!, July 15, 2002

Though I wouldn't consider this the best Happy Flowers album, it IS a collection-completer. The first half of the album are songs that were (you guessed it) released on 45. The second half of the album are live songs and songs from the various bands Mr. Anus and Mr. HCI were in throughout the years. If you're looking for a first exposure to the Happy Flowers, I would suggest their album "Oof"; it's the most representative of their work, followed by "Lasterday I Was Been Bad," and then this one. The Happy Flowers are definitely an acquired taste, but if you are into quirky college radio-type bands and fun, DIY punk, you'll definitely enjoy these guys. They're like two little kids banging away on drums and screwing around with noisy guitars, screaming about all the major kid issues: having to go to school, eating food you think is gross, picking at your scabs, and playing games that end up with you crying because you got hurt. Music to annoy your parents with!

5.0 out of 5 stars the next big thing, November 9, 2000
This review is from: Flowers on 45 (Audio CD)
The only way to be cool is to buy this.

Put down that milkcap and guitar string, and go get some money. I don't care how you get it, just get it, because everything depends on this. This cd will bring you eternal happiness, I swear. If you don't like it, you will soon. Just look at all those songs!

All you'll ever need is this CD, some 3-D glasses and a bottle of soda pop to join you and your dog on the hamock. This is is the best album ever, beating even Ween and Negativeland with a big ol' stick of butter.

5.0 out of 5 stars bedrock, December 4, 2002

Happy Flowers in general are something that have to be heard to be believed
hard punk from the point of view of a three year old
usually done in one take with little preparation, though they are otherwise gems
buy all of it you can find

a highlight for me was giving one of my mixCDs to a guy at an outdoor party last year, then suddenly he comes running over to me yelling "I'm Mr. Anus!"
made my whole week
gosh he looked pretty normal
they always do
