Book Description

June 1, 2006
Flowers this gorgeous need no embellishment. For 2007, Smith & Hawken presents a year of naturally radiant blooms simply displayed in vases, buckets, pitchers, and other found containers. Each month’s arrangement evokes the appeal of a bouquet picked up at a farm stand, or spontaneously gathered from a field of wildflowers. An urn of lush purple hydrangeas atop a pedestal. The modern elegance of white tulips in a sun-filled white room. Just picked garden roses, perfectly stunning in a weathered earthen jug. And a charming still life of lemons, limes, and yellow sunflowers. All year long, it’s a celebration of nature’s gifted hand.

Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Naturally elegant, naturally lush, naturally beautiful. Frilly pink peonies in a Japanese teapot. A composition in purple: lilacs and hyacinths spilling out of an art deco bowl. A creamy white pitcher holds delicate blooming dogwood branches, and October calls with a flowerpot full of papery orange Chinese lanterns.

From Smith & Hawken, here are twelve months of gorgeous blooms displayed in buckets, pitchers, jars, and other found containers. The arrangements are unfussy and spontaneous, evoking the pleasures of sunny gardens and farm stands all year round. Every one of these portraits—and every one of these blossoms—is an affirmation of Nature's splendor. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Calendar - good improvements, February 11, 2008

The photos are pretty and the selection of colors for each month is well-rounded. I like the flower choices. Best of all, this year Smith & Hawken finally put in two little squares with "last month" and "next month". Now you don't have to turn pages or take the calendar down to see what day the 20th is of next month, for example. This means I can use the calendar now instead of just looking at the pictures. Good job. Page layout is nice also.

I get this calendar every year for myself and for my mother-in-law. It hangs in my kitchen. The squares for each day are large enough to write in daily activities, so I keep my & my toddler's schedule with this calendar. The pictures are so beautiful that it brings me cheer every day! Highly recommend this calendar for you or for any ladies in your life (or guys who love flowers).
