About the Author

Ian Jackman is a professional employed in the hotel industry in England. Born in London where he still resides, his passions include going to the theater and listening to popular music. Two of his favorite vocalists are Frank Sinatra and Diana Ross. Over a period of years he came to know Princess Diana, and when she died tragically in an automobile accident in Paris, he decided to share with the world his many memories of meetings with her. Flowers for Princess Diana is his first book. Chuck N. Baker is a journalist, TV newsman and author who lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. Indirectly through Jackman's efforts, Baker came to meet Diana and write about her for an American newspaper. Upon her death Baker flew to London and interviewed Jackman, and in Flowers for Princess Diana he details his and Jackman's observations and warm memories of conversations and events involving the princess. A multi-talented communicator equally at home in several fields of journalism, he has authored two other books and has written and produced an award-winning educational home video. Visit Chuck N. Baker's web site at www.veteransreporter.com --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars CD-ROM is nice little book, paperback would be better, June 17, 2005

This review is from: Flowers for Princess Diana (CD-ROM)
Sort of a short biographical account of a British Hotel worker who, with some friends, decided to try and see the Princess at some of her public appearances. Over time he managed to see her more and more, became well known to the Princess and became a friend of hers. He often brought her flowers, that's the title part, but sometimes other gifts, and describes this as well as some of the many times he met Diana. I thought it was an interesting little book, chatty but different, lots of pictures almost all taken by Mr. Jackman.

I think when I ordered the CD-ROM it was more available than the paperback, now the reverse is true, I'd rather have it in paperform. Amazon doesn't give any PC requirements, which made me nervous, but I was relieved to find that it is Macintosh, Windows or Unix compatible- you also need a sound card (for a song on the disc- I didn't listen to it)and a Java-enabled browser. I put the thing in my CD-ROM drive and it started right up,didn't install anything that I saw, no problems. I use America Online, that started up like I was going to be put online but it just opened the book up,easy to operate when you get it there. If you don't have AOL or something like that would Internet Explorer work it? I don't know, and wish more information was provided.

1.0 out of 5 stars Order Not Complete, March 11, 2008
The book says that included are, "exclusive never-before-published photographs of Princess Diana." The only pictures included are on the front and back cover of the book. I don't think that's what was meant or is it? The order is incomplete as far as I'm concerned as I specifically bought this for the pictures first. Melanie Fundanish
