More About the Author
Additionally, as a prolific photographer with an eye for details, she will be publishing a number of books that are photo based with information about the photographs in them. The ability for these photos to now be able to be enjoyed in color on eReaders and eReader apps has inspired her to create a multitude of books on a large variety of subjects.
Her favorite subjects to photograph are butterflies, hummingbirds and macro images of flowers, in addition to wildlife and nature of all kinds. There will be many series of books about nature in general and by species, and wildlife plus beautiful locations that she has photographed.

Butterflies truly are beautiful creatures and that beauty is captured time and time again throughout the 28 pages of this eBook.
My favorite quote from the book is
Happiness is a butterfly,
which when pursued,
is always just beyond your grasp,
but which, if you will sit down quietly,
may alight upon you.
~ Nathaniel Hawthorne, 1804-1864 ~
Remarkable, beauty and serenity can be found upon the wings of a butterfly. Deborah and Vinny did a great job capturing the butterfly in these natural photos. Job well done, I can't wait for more in this series!
I would have loved to see even more photos, but I do understand that this was the first in a series!
If you like butterflies or just colorful photos, you'll thoroughly enjoy this ebook. It would actually do well as a coffee table book with all its bright colored photographs and short verses and quotes relating to butterflies. I've browsed through many coffee table books that couldn't compare for quality and interest.
Flowers with Wings is aptly subtitled, A Collection of Butterfly Photos. Each photo is of a different type of butterfly, each in a natural setting and each featuring a short verse or quote that makes the book just that much more enjoyable. While Flowers with Wings doesn't include the Monarch or what I call a "yellow butterfly" - though I have no idea what it's really called - the book includes more unusual varieties and those you've probably never seen.
For instance, you can view the Malachite Butterfly with its sea foam green and pearly wings, the Orange Tiger Butterfly with its orange and black tiger stripes, or the Paperkite or Rice Paper Butterfly which is said to be the largest butterfly and which is absolutely beautiful. As they all are.
A quote by Robert Frost describes these small creatures well... "Butterflies...flowers that fly and all but sing." If you appreciate God's creativity and photographic beauty, you'll be fascinated with Flowers with Wings. I was. And I'm not the biggest fan of butterflies there is.
The Flowers With Wings digital photography ebook by Deborah Carney and Vinny O'Hare is a peaceful book that I found myself flipping through slowly. It's perfect for someone who loves butterflies and at $4.99, it's an affordable gift and stocking stuffer. What I love about the book is that it inspired an addition to my Photography Bucket List. I caught a portion of a documentary about the Monarch Butterflies and thought it would be amazing to capture a portion of their migration in South America. Until I get my act together and get my passport, I think I'll visit a local butterfly exhibit and see what I can capture.
Flowers With Wings is fantastic for butterfly lovers and poetry lovers. This isn't a how to photography book sharing tips on photographing butterflies, but the images are gorgeous and before I was halfway through, I was planning a trip to a butterfly exhibit.
I searched online for seasonal butterfly exhibits around the US and Canada so that you can plan a visit too. I'm not certain how complete or current this list is, but at least you have a start; visit my site for the list: [...]. So, what's on your Photography Bucket List?
