Purchased this as a gift for my 12 year old son. The board is very well made and sturdy. He has really enjoyed riding it and it has a big initial WOW factor. However, the wheels on this board are the weak link in my opinion. They do not spin anywhere near as well as decent skateboard wheels. Adding oil helped some but I would say this board is definitely NOT for flat terrain. On small hills the rolling resistance of the wheels kills your momentum quickly. Long, steep hills are where the board really shines. Due to the number of wheels (12) maybe the manufacturer could put higher quality wheels on the board without driving the price too high. Bottom line. If you live in a hilly area or plan to use this at a skatepark, this is a great board. Otherwise, it might not be worth the $$$.

The Flowboard takes a few times to get it right due to the differences in the wheels - but my 11 year old son has enjoyed learning to ride this cool new skateboard.

may be fun for some, but I broke my arm on the first ride, May 12, 2009

I have ridden skateboards in the 80s, and currently ride longboards. I bought this with some birthday money earlier this year, and the first time I rode it, it hit a rock, the wheels locked up, and I flew foward, breaking my arm in the process. with all those wheels, you have to be very careful about any rocks in your path. My wife was extremely upset with me and the board, so i sold it locally on craigslist within the next 2 weeks. Never got to ride it more than once. I will stick with 4 wheels, although I bet this would be fun at a skatepark, or for someone who does not have an over-reacting wife/gf/mom/etc.
