My muffler rusted out and fell off; I needed a cheap replacement, and I've always loved a good glasspack. Pay attention when you buy; there are 3 different part numbers for this particular glasspack. The one ending in 252 (this one) is 2.5" in/out. This thing is also really long, comes right out to a hair under 24". However, it's a very solidly made glasspack; it's heavy, and I'm pretty sure the packing will last a couple years.
The only gripe I had about it was that the red paint peeled right off after about a day. I wasn't too surprised, I was able to scrape it off with my fingernail beforehand.
Be warned, this thing would work better as a resonator than a muffler; my v6 3.0L sounds like a fartcan with this thing. I wouldn't call it ricey, but it's damn loud. BRAP BRAP BRRAAAPP

I bought this exhaust because my old one rusted off i didnt have any clamps or 3 inch pipeing so i welded it on straight to the caddie. I decided to just straight piped it to the back sounds great has a great rumble and ive gotten alot of thumbs up for having it on a v6 ranger. I would recomend this.

I put these on my truck as duals. 2002 Dakota 4.7 engine. It is a super sound. Not too loud but enough to let you know they are there. Very reasonable price.

Using it as not was it was intended for. I cut of the end, pulled out the core and shoved it inside my existing case. My bike sounds absolutely amazing and I'm sure the tone will deepen as the insides get seasoned with use.

THE SHORT:
Basic glasspack muffler, nothing special here. Odd inlet/outlet size largely due to the thickness of the shell. Inner diameter is a tad over 2.5 inches and the outer diameter is approximately 2.68 inches. Therefore this is not a "slip fit" muffler as advertised because it cannot be installed using just adapters and clamps. Welding is the only installation option here.

THE LONG:
This is really just your basic glasspack muffler. It reduces backpressure which increases flow, horsepower (from any stock muffler), and sound. If you're upgrading or repairing your exhaust system, replacing your stock muffler with a glasspack is generally a good idea, even if you're not that interested in performance. The increased flow should (theoretically) also help improve fuel economy, especially for older cars with worn out mufflers that are being too constricting.

Also, keep in mind during installation that all mufflers (glasspack and all others) are DIRECTIONAL, meaning that there is an upstream end (pointed towards the engine) and a downstream end. If you install the muffler backwards it won't work right and could hurt performance or just act like straight pipe, depending on the muffler. Most mufflers (incl. glasspacks) have an arrow printed on them indicating direction of flow. This muffler (Flowtech 50252FLT) does not, nor does it come with any instructions, so if this is your first time: beware.

Finally, the size of the inlet and outlet is a bit weird. According to Flowtech's website this is supposed to be a "slip fit" muffler. It is not, largely owing to the thickness of the shell. The inner diameter of the inlet and outlet is about 2.5 inches, but the outer diameter is much larger, approximately 2.68 inches.

When my truck muffler rusted out I did not want to spend a lot to replace it. And I couldn't beat the price of this little Cherry Bomb style muffler. Of course it's not nearly as quiet as the original, but I was going for that anyway. It is a nice "rumble" at idle and kind of purrs along at freeway speeds. If you accelerate at a normal pace you can tell there is something under the hood (I have this on a 4 liter V6) and if you wrap the rpms up a little further and faster you get a rasp at a pitch considerably lower (with a V^) than a 4 cylinder rice burner. (and you can't tell that it's there by looking). The only 'complaint' i have is that it took sometime to determine what part number to buy (the pipe diameters are in the part number) and the direction of flow. Other than that I would buy one of these again.
