If you are looking for a LEAF SHREDDER, I say again, LEAF SHREDDER the Flowtron works. I needed something for pine needles and oak leaves and after shredding a few garbage cans full I was satisfied. As long as you take out branches, pine cones and anything else that is not considered a leaf or needle it will mulch it down no problem.

If you need something for branches and twiggs I suggest getting a real chipper because it won't work for those needs. People reviewing the Flowtron and giving it bad reviews are not using the product as intended and are putting too much in at a time along with branches and twiggs.

ONE to TWO handfuls is what the directions recommend. Anything more than that and it will struggle and leave you frustrated. Once you have a big pile and start going at a couple of handfuls it goes fairly quickly. One video on here has a guy using the green hand claws and dropping large quantities in. WRONG WRONG. The claws work great for making piles and getting leaves out from under bushes and trees but take them off when you start shredding. Get a good pair of gloves and goggles and cover your face with a wet towel or shirt. Within an hour you can shred approx 10-15 bags. Perfect for an average size lawn.

The only flaw is the plastic dome and stand. It's made cheap. I had to use duct tape to hold the stand together because the screw that holds the stand together didn't hold. The plastic dome feels flimsy and you really can't grab it or it will come apart. Other than that I have no issues with the Flowtron. It does exactly what it says. Nothing more, nothing less.

Typically Amazon is cheaper than manufacturer but not in this case. You can buy from Flowtron for 60% less. you pay shipping but that's OK. Best deal is to buy the kit so you have the replacement parts plus 36 lines for only $20.95. Takes a little longer to receive so plan ahead. We order a kit every year.

Read the reviews, compared prices. This arrived promptly, very easy to put together. easy to use. We put it over a trash can and have the leaf "grabbers" to pick up the leaves. It is good to wear a mask and glasses/goggles as it produces dust. We have a very large area so were not able to use it all over, but it does a great job overall. Would highly recommend it.

These replacement cutting lines are easy to install in the Flowtron Leaf-Eater and inexpensive. That is fortunate, as they wear out very quickly. I would have preferred a cutting line that was more expensive but lasted longer. You need to make sure you have a supply of these on hand, if you plan to do much mulching.

Way to expensive for what you get. This is where they are making their money.A good weed eater cord works way better and is a quarter of the cost.

Not much to say, if you like your Flowtron Electric Leaf eater, and want to keep using it, you'll need these.

I was glad to find a source for these lines, as Sears has stopped carrying the mulcher, which is good for my use at home. These lines seem to be made of a new and tougher plastic as they lasted long enough to mulch all the leaves this year, nine bags worth, where the lines that came with the mulcher wore down at a much faster rate, a pair every two bags or so.

This mulcher does a good job on dry leaves, but wet material will place a heavy load on the motor and the process becomes somewhat slower. For compost piles mulch is so much better than the leaves and for small jobs this product is highly recommended.
