This pole is as described. The one flaw is that it has a theft proof feature that requires loosening a nut to release the bug light. I'm concerned that over time, it will rust, making removal of the light difficult. This part should be stainless steel. Other than that, it does the job. I ran the wire up through the pipe for a neater appearance. This required cutting the plug off and reinstalling. This was a minor inconvenience for a more finished look.

Sturdy, not flimsy....easy to put together. Would liked to have seen the inside dimension a little bigger because we put an outdoor rated extension cord inside the pole before we mount it in concrete. It's not big enough to get the plug through so the extension cord had to be spliced with that part of it placed inside for protection from rain, etc. It can be done...just takes a little more work and someone that knows how to splice an electrical wire.

very easy to install. you can adjust the height by leaving a piece out. No tool is necessary.
I would definitely recommand this to any one who has flowtron. you are suppose to setup the flowtron away from your deck, patio, and house. this will do the job.

I'm using the FlowTron SP-200 Security Lantern Pole to hold my FlowTron-40 bug zapper. It was a little difficult to get the first piece 2 feet into my backyard soil because its mostly clay after about 1 foot. After connecting all of the pole pieces and the FlowTron-40, I found the lantern pole to be somewhat unstable. I removed one of the pieces so that it stands at about 6-7 feet and it works just fine.

Had this for a week now........does the job. Holes for the bolt were off by a whole lot......not sure if that's the way it's supposed to be. The rubber stopper that goes at the end was toooooo small. The thing kinda spins around with the wind......I have it in the ground per instructions but since it is put together in sections....the sucker spins. I am too lazy to look for anything else so I will keep it. I does its job......but was too expensive. It should have been 15 bucks. BTW... I use it with the smallest Flowtron.

I've seen a review or 2 that says that this pole will not work with the Flowtron BK-80D. That's wrong. When you hang that model zapper on this pole, there's 5 inches of clearance from the widest point of the zapper (the top).
The pole comes in sections, and if you're going to install all sections of it, be sure to spike the bottom post into the ground the two feet it says to, otherwise it will sway in the breeze. But at the called-for 2 feet, it'll stay sturdy and true. The title of "security" is a bit of a lie, however. Its "security" is a nut on a j-hook, that's all. Even if it rusted over time and became difficult to remove the nut, with the pole being sectionalized, it's still a snap to just yank at the top of the pole and remove a section of the pole along with the zapper. If you're REALLY concerned about "security" I'd recommend putting some sort of sealant between the sections so that it can't be removed so easily. But we ARE talking about a pole for a bug zapper here, so is there REALLY a need for such security? I would hope not. In the end, this is the best accessory I've come up with for hanging my BK-80D zapper the required minimum 25' distance it calls for, and would recommend it to anyone buying a zapper as well.

I wanted to get this pole, because I didn't want to jack around with another pole that wasn't designed for the Flowtron zapper. So I picked this up. It works fine for it's purpose. It's actually pretty tall, which is good and breaks down into 3 sections. So when I'm not using my zapper I can take the zapper and the top 2 sections off and just leave the bottom section in the ground (could be a safety risk so use caution). I used a piece of wood on top of the bottom section and a rubber mallet to hammer the bottom section into the ground about half of it's length. This made the base very sturdy. I noticed that it's beginning to rust a bit already, so I suppose this is one of those things that will need an occasional wire brushing and a coat of black Rustoleum about once a year. I have lost my hardware for it somehow, but zip ties work in a pinch. I may contact Flowtron to see if I can get more hardware, or maybe one day when I'm cleaning the basement I will find it. I can't help but wonder if one of the cheapo poles I see at the hardware store would have worked just as good? Maybe, maybe not. At least this way I supported an American company.

I bought this for my flowtron. It's a high pole. Easy to install. Looks good in the yard. Very sturdy. I'm quite happy with this purchase.

I installed this pole straight into the ground by itself, no cement or anything. I just hammered it straight into the grass, and it has held up fine. I use it to hang the flowtron 25 feet away from my deck ( per instructions). The pole is made for your flowtron device, and will withstand a good amount of weather. I had high winds of 20 mph, and heavy rain, and the pole hasn't moved or broke. I highly recommend it.

You are better off buying a plant hanger and using it. That's what I ended up using. This item is cheap and unstable not for use with the heavy bug zappers. What a waste of my money. Don't waste yours.
