5.0 out of 5 stars Presents aerodynamic drag data for typical aero shapes., October 12, 1999
Drag polars, data, and curves presented in easy format. Coefficients of drag for most shapes can be easily estimated for use in the drag equation and estimating aerodynamic drag loads.

If you like Hoerner, also take a look at the Applied Fluid Dynamics Handbook by Robert D. Blevins (ISBN 0894647172). Blevins puts a lot of similiar information into a more user friendly manner (not so many pencil marks, references scattered throughout the text, etc), while including a plethora of information in one source.

BTW - Hoerner has always been available directly through his widow in Bakersfield, CA - a very nice lady.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent compendium of aerodynamic drag data., December 9, 2009
This review is from: Fluid Dynamic Drag (Paperback)
I have used this book for many years in my engineering career. It is a thorough collection of aerodynamic drag data that to my knowledge is not available in any other single reference. It includes sections on water-borne craft and land-borne vehicles as well as aircraft. The book is most useful for engineers and those who do not shy away from mathematical formulas. If you are interested in drag of land vehicles, also look at Hucho, Aerodynamics of Road Vehicles, SAE, 1998.

5.0 out of 5 stars You cannot be an aeronautical engineer without this book, April 20, 2001

Keith Smith (Indianapolis, IN) - See all my reviews
In 1990, I looked for a copy of this book and was told it was out of print. I have been looking for a used copy for 10 years. It looks like someone has decided to reprint it...

I designed several concept aircraft with the information in this book (back in the 80's).

5.0 out of 5 stars All you need, March 24, 2000
If I had just two books and no computer - it would be Hoerner's "Drag" and its brother book "Lift". It's all in there. Truely a mastery of everything you wanted to know.
